Elvin’s Bakery is my favorite bakery in town. I love everything here, especially their cakes. They have a variety of cakes to choose from. Whenever I need a cake for special occasion like birthday, anniversary or retirement, I always get my cake from Elvin’s. They also sell other pastries besides cakes.

I've heard of this business for many years, but never had a chance to go. Finally went and got to see what it was like. There were a few people in the bake shop that seemed to be repeat customers. The owner seemed to have a good relationship with them. They were treated much better. I grabbed a spam and egg bun for breakfast. Nothing to complain about. The bread was tender, and the spam and egg were pretty standard. Nothing to write home about but it was enjoyable enough.

Best cake I can find on the island. The taste and level of sweetness is perfect for me. I buy their cake for everyone’s birthday celebration every year.

Needed a cake at the last minute for a party and did not want to fight traffic driving all the way to Ala Moana area for a fruity cake (my family only likes the Asian kind with fruit lol). Got the mango mousse, everyone was happy with the choice, delicious, good size, not too sweet.

Sadly my review of Elivin's bakery is not great. We picked up a slice of the recommended best seller strawberry shortcake cake, lilikoi cake, lemon bar and bolo Bao. The strawberry shortcake whipped frosting was not like whipped cream. It tasted waxy and not fluffy. It was not fresh whipped cream. The strawberries did not taste fresh either. The cake portion was on the dry side. 2 out of 5 stars. The lilikoi slice was not edible. Not sure if something was wrong here. The lilikoi topping was super sour. Maybe something happened? The cake was dry and old tasting. We ended up throwing it away. Three of us tried a taste and it was a no go. 1 out of 5 stars. Lemon bar. I enjoyed the lemon part. The crust was unfortunately not crisp or flaky. Maybe it was refrigerated too long. The bar was on the soft side. It is individually wrapped and the top will get messed up if your not careful how you open it up. 3 out of 5 stars. The Bolo Bao. A simple plain and average sweet bread. No filling. Just bread. 3 out of 5 stars. Service. Really nice lady helped us with our choices. She was sweet and informative. 5 out of 5 stars. You are charged 50 cents per box. The receipt is not itemized so you need to pay attention to the signage. The bakery is quaint and clean. It's located in the Kapalama Shopping Center. There is free parking available in the area.

The Japanese cheese cake is delicious. I would definitely order it again. The service is friendly and courteous.

I have been shopping at Elvin for many years, they make their pastry and bread fresh daily, their cakes are to our liking because they are not very sweet. The store looks clean and the owner speak Chinese and since we are Chinese, they recognized us every time I shop. There are plenty of parkings, however the on going rail construction kind of make the traffic back up from time to time but I still go there every so often, go and support this local business

I went in the afternoon and was looking for a small cake. There were only larger round cakes and about 8 different types of sliced cakes. I know you have to go early to get the freshest cakes, but I simply didn’t have the time that day. However the slices were just right to try a few and they were delicious and very fresh. Next time I’ll call ahead for a fresh small cake and I do recommend slices to try the different flavors of cakes!

After reading the recent reviews, is Elvin's under new ownership/management?! Because each time I have patronized this established I receive nothing but rude behavior, no hello, no thank you and forget about asking about their products because you are bothering them as I was made to feel. Shame on me for visiting more than once. Best of luck during the rail construction.

First time here as recommended by a local friend. Got a bunch of bread to try. Their breads are delicious with a wide variety - spam & egg, Hokkaido bun, Portuguese sausage, spinach & cheese.. you name it! And staff are really friendly too :)

Good pastries. If you come early enough, they have fresh baked bread that may be purchased.

The cakes are delicious but it'll cost you about $45 a pop. Not sure if they do 6 inch cakes anymore. The last 2 x I ordered cakes they only had 8 inch ones available. I've had over a dozen cakes from this bakery and the strawberry shortcake used to be my favorite. Unfortunately, the last one I purchased tasted old.
