The food was good but I can't recommend going to this location. The hostess dropped the menu on the ground as she was taking us to the table and picked it up and put it on our table like nothing happened. No sanitizing, no replacements. Then the server came and she was very friendly but forgot to give us parts of our order and could not be flagged down because she kept speed walking past us with her back to the table. They also wouldn't clear up our table of dishes that were empty and we thought that was just the way the restaurant worked until we saw other tables being cleared up regularly. Then to top it all off a male kitchen worker wearing a gyukaku uniform went right outside the restaurant and started yelling and berating whoever was on the phone call with him so loudly that I could hear his conversation from the first floor parking. Seriously have no idea what is going on with the staff here but they are poorly representing the Japanese gyukaku restaurant chain. Do better.

After coming here a number of times over the years we feel like the quality of the food has gone down considerably this visit. The meats are still great, but the sides were nothing to write home about. Our server, Milford, was fantastic, though. Great personality and came to check on us enough times for us to order as much as we needed since we were doing the AYCE.

Located in a rough looking area but the food was amazing. The staff are super nice. Man the food was so good.

The worst restaurant in Hawaii!I ordered a package, but Torobeef and garlic mushroom did not come out, and teriyaki chicken came out twice, and instant miso soup and rice were only given a long times, and the grill was not cleaned, so it is dirty and sanitary. The server doesn't come when I call, the food doesn't come if I don't check, the ice cream doesn't have green tea, and the vanilla is melted. All meats was not fresh. The grill was not replaced, so it was not managed. On top of that, after eating here, my son and I are seriously suspicious of the meat condition due to diarrhea and vomiting. The name is Gyukaku, but it's fake here.Don't ever go to this store!!!It will be remembered as the worst restaurant in Hawaii.Kid-friendliness: worst!

We've come here quite a bit as it's convenient for us and we can always count on the food tasting great! The staff is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean, that's important to us as well. The prices are reasonable and senior specials are a great deal.

Haven't been to this location, didn't know it existed. Last minute plans, Hubby suggested we go here and bring the kids since it's been awhile we've eaten at a restaurant with just us 4 since the pandemic. Everything was spectacular and on point from calling in for reservations to the end of our dining experience. I wish I could've gotten the host who answered the phone and was able to get us in a little earlier before the big parties arrive. He was very helpful. Thank you! On a Saturday night they were jamming. Our server Megan was so sweet. We could tell she was pretty much getting slammed but at the same time she was able to take good care of our table and get what we needed. Exceptional service. We've encountered her fellow servers services as well and then we're very much nice & polite. Location was very nice, I prefer this location now since we would always go to the Kapiolani one. Food was on point. Plating of the meats was very neat & presentable. My margarita was delish, hubbies bud light was good as always. The kids meals were very cute and filling for both of the kids they finished it all. Highly recommend this location! I wish I took a pic of the food and our experience but only got a good photo of my Li hing Margarita. We will be back for sure!

FOOD!!! @gyukakuhi won my heart! Compliments to the chef! One of the best services amongst any of the locations. I was so satisfied that I ate till my opu was so full and didn't need to eat dinner . . Yet... My husband just hates taking me to these AYCE places. He says I nvr ever eat ENOUGH to make it worth it . Never mind the meat, I'm there for the sides and dessert

The all-you-can-eat Japanese, DIY at your own table, BBQ is a well worth the prices. The neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired and parking can be tricky, but all-in-all it's a good meal.If you are not satisfied when you finish this dinner then you're doing it wrong. The drinks take quite a while (even ordering two at a time didn't solve the empty glass issue) and the night of our dinner was not very busy either.

Absolutely the best customer service i have experienced. This review i have been waiting forever to write but found myself never getting around to it. My friends and I always come here for there all you can eat . Tonight we got the Premium 60 and its Thursday so its all day Happy hour just an fyi. But we was immediately greeted by Randy the manager with such Aloha. Megan our server is the real reason for me finally getting around to this review. She was so attentive, such great service and got everything down. Kalihi location is the best location all in all

Hands down best Gyu Kaku location! We've been to a few on the island and in the mainland and this location is our favorite. We've always had a pleasant experience with the food and customer service. The servers are always so friendly.

The food was awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you haven't been there yet I recommend trying it out. FYI you cook your own food...but it's worth it.
