Super tasty Hawaiian food! Great service too. In a less attractive area but the inside is very clean and welcoming. Loved the Haupia, pork and short ribs

TAKE YOUR FOOD TOGO AND BOUNCE!!! Food was excellent but the service sucks. As a server myself I seen our server roll her eyes when we sat down. She was rude asking us if we going to pay separately before we even ordered. Assuming we were cheapskates I get it. The busser was really respectful and I think he deserves to be a server instead. Took care of the bill early and server realize she got a cool tip and started being nice towards us. But Damn! I never got the Aloha spirit from the servers in this restaurant. We supported this restaurant everytime we go to Hawaii and this was a weird experience because folks always treated us great. I guess they got more money now and they snobby servers must've been there for so long, that they think there too cool to care of they own kind. They seemed more accommodating towards the white folks coming in. Servers think they in a fine dine restaurant and forgot they just a hole in the wall restaurant that I use to love. I'm guessing the servers must be the related to the owners, because if not they should've fired them a long time ago. it's weird and baffling to get terrible sevice by your own kind in Hawaii where most peoples are genuinely nice and respectful. Mind boggling? Yall need to get rid of those sellout servers and get some new genuinely nicer peoples to keep the Aloha spirit because yall losing it.Parking: Parking is terribly tiny and ground is lumpy as hell

Amazing, delicious, scrumptious! The pipi kaula is something that I'll never forget. It will be the one of things that ultimately brings me back to HI.

This was just what we wanted. A hole-in-the-wall with people waiting to get in- except when we came, we sat right down!

I dropped by Helena's out of curiosity as they are famous for having the most authentic Hawaiian food. I would rate them a 3.5/5, but this is due to the minimal exposure I've had to "Hawaiian" cuisine, and just compared it to foods I've tried in general. This place gets pretty busy, and they don't take reservations, but you can join the waitlist on Yelp, and sit on the long bench outside while you wait for a table. I waited approximately 20 mins on a weekday afternoon. You're required to scan a QR code to access the menu here, and a server will come take your order when you're ready. I ordered the fried butterfish collar, macaroni salad, and a large order of the short ribs. The coconut jelly was complimentary. The butterfish was super delicious if you like fish, and don't mind a bit of the fish smell (my partner who doesn't usually like seafood thought it smelled too fishy). The short ribs were well flavoured, but super dry and a bit overpriced for the portion given. Finally the macaroni salad was average. The staff here were all very friendly and efficient, as both the food and bill came quickly (note that you're required to go up to the counter to pay). The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, with a very simple set up, and there's limited free parking out front.Parking: A small strip plaza with limited free parking out front

Are you kidding me? The one in the box is big size. The other one is half. What is the difference here? This is nuts.
