The best chicken Katsu I've had. I've had others from other places, the meat is usually dry and very thin. This on the other hand is fat and tasty. Can't go wrong with this Katsu. I haven't had a chance for any of the other menu items but if I crave Katsu, I will go out of my way to come here to get some.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS. Small little hole in the wall but let me tell you that what I got was WELL WORTH IT. I didn't have a chance to take pics of the inside or outside or anything in between. I was rushed and I heard of this place from a friend of mine. Never am I ever in Kalihi unless I have a specific place to get something. To my great happiness, I remembered of this place and I was really really craving katsu. The plate was heavy and I mean HEAVY when I got it. I brought it back to work and in the car I could just smell the scents of what was going to be in my belly soon. I opened it up and omg it was overflowing with food. Scoop of Mac salad (very good and I could taste the onion too,!which I personally like), rice and a ton of crispy golden katsu. I shared my lunch with a coworker and still had leftover!! I have to say that the pieces were juicy and meaty. Not scrawny little breaded shreds or thin and non existent meat. I loved it. Juicy and fat and crunchy. The sauce was good. Not too sweet, not too sour and tasted of Worcestershire which I believe might have been in it. I'm not an expert but I thought I tasted it. It just all in all great. The price is SUPER reasonable for today's new post Covid prices in the restaurant industry. So go grab some, but save some for me!

Great family, good food. If you're looking for a large portion for a decent price, this one is on point. I recommend the ribeye and garlic shrimp plate. This plate is big enough for two! Can't go wrong with the Chicken katsu combo chili dog plate under 20!

First time I eating there, I had the Beef stew bowl and Cheeseburger combo. Food was excellent but customer service was kinda cold. Second time I visited, I ordered the Beef curry bowl, kinda bland, but the customer service was great. Beef stew 5 star, Cheeseburger 4 stars, French fries 5 stars.

TODAY sept 1 2023 @ 12:15 pm just went to Kalihi bbq inn they r CLOSED didnt see any sign saying why they r closed big chain & lock on dr -- if anyone hears anything like if they r going to reopen or relocate - let every one know !!

Faith,the sweet lady working there is so nice and friendly. Their Katsu is the best I have ever had,hands down. If you're hungry and out and about you will not regret this food stop!

Have been filling up gas at the Freedom gas station/Fastop for a long time. Noticed this place on the side but never paid much attention. I drove to fill gas today but the pumps are being renovated. Might as well try this place. Ordered the mini chix katsu and bbq mix plate. For the record, probably one of the best chicken katsu around. The mac said was on point also. For a mini, lots of chicken. Maybe could scoop the rice a little bigger though. Now, as far as the bbq plate, their sauce is a little on the saltier side and not as sweet as I am used to. How ever, the meats and chicken were super soft. I would order these two again and will definitely come back.
