Don't walk, run to this awesome Korean hole-in-the-wall. I recommend calling in advance and asking if they can seat you at a specific time. Once you sit down, order the sashimi, a strawberry soju slushy, and a meat jun. You're welcome.

Bustling down to earth eatery that should definitely be a part of your visit to Honolulu. Hard to beat amazing prices and considerable amounts of excellent food. Get a soju slush and pair it some raw seafood and your choice of Korean specialty. We went with Meat Jun and Tteokbokki. Great large format meal.

Found easy free street parking and walked into this very unassuming place, but once you're in it has a mom n pop feel, and very welcoming. We wanted to try as much as we could without over ordering, so this is what we got:Sashimi Combination $30 - the smallest one, and it comes with tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All of this was really fresh and generous in size and portion. My favorite was the yellowtail.Mama Special Poke - 1/2 pound - this was really fresh and not overpowering in flavor in a good way.Butter Fish Stew - very similar to the tradition Korean spicy fish stew, but this is with butter fish/cod and it was the jam! I would order this towards the end of our meal since it's a great meal finisher.Spicy Tuna (minced) - 1/2 pound - this was so different from any other poke I've ever had and tasty! It's minced raw tuna mixed in with masago and Hawaiian red salt. They served this with a side of Korean seaweed, and you wrap it with rice and scoop of the Spicy Tuna - bomb!Lastly, the sides - kimchi, picked radish & jalapenos, and the mac salad were all so good. Additionally, the service here was top notch, and the owner's daughter, Yunee came out and talked to us and told us her story. I will be coming back for sure with my Korean parents!

Hands down best food in Hawaii! Group of 8 of us booked a reservation and had the meal of our lives. Extremely authentic Korean food, efficient service, top tier quality. Fried mandu, kalbi, bbq chicken, kimchi fried rice, poke, chicken katsu, seafood pancake, and soju- all amazing!!

Cannot sing enough praises about this place. TLDR; sashimi combo and kalbi. We were so awestruck by the sashimi and kalbi that we came back the next day. Sashimi is fresh, creamy, tender. The kalbi is plump, smoky, and tender and juicy. Honestly probably among the best kalbi I've had and I grew up in SoCal too. The bon chan were also great. The mac salad was perfect and was what I was looking for in a mac salad all week in Oahu. Kimchi and radish were fresh and crunchy. Pricing is reasonable for the quality. 24 sashimi pieces (ahi, salmon, yellowtail) for $30. 6 kalbi short rib pieces and rice for $20. When we came back we got the sashimi salad (typically 7 pieces of ahi, quarter pound of cubed salmon, masago) and the meat jun and mama's special ahi poke. All were solid but could not compare to the sashimi combo and kalbi. Service was good. They have a mom & pop vibe. Small but pleasant dining area. Parking is a little hard to find. All street residential parking. It's on the first floor of a corner building. Unassuming but you won't regret it. Definitely my highlight foodwise while in Oahu.

Kyung’s is a centrally located hole in the wall that’s a favorite of chefs and in-the-know locals. It’s best in the evenings, for a night of good company coupled with seafood and spicy Korean food that demands booze. Come with friends and order the large sashimi platter to share. Then add on a few hot dishes and a pitcher of strawberry soju slush, and call it a night. Kyung’s also make great poke (especially the salmon-‘ahi mix)
