Feels authentic and very filled with our beautiful Mexican culture, bit over budget but it’s definitely worth it. Food was AMAZING. Last thing to note they almost have every Mexican dish possible so very awesome.

Found this little gem our last night in Honolulu January 20, 2024. A.T. the manager made it happen last minute for a table of 9 before we were heading back to Alaska. He was such an amazing host. The food was fantastic! When my 85 yr old mom likes the food… that says A LOT!! Will for sure return again!! Definitely recommend!!!

Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant on the island! Been going there for over 6 years and it's still amazing! Highly recommend the jalapeño poppers and the spicey seafood tacos. Get one fish and one shrimp. And don't forget to try the churros with ice cream. ?

They're open again! Haven't been here in ages, but it's definitely great to be back! The server is awesome and very personable. He even remembered us from 2 years ago. I missed the salsa and chips here. Everything is homemade in house. The food was as I remembered. The lunch special mini burrito wasn't... mini at all. Great lunch deals if you're coming for lunch. I highly recommend the LC Fiesta Burrito! One thing that stood out here was that on the receipt, they don't have the tip towards the bottom automatically printed. There was no pressure in tipping any sort of "suggested amount" as many restaurants may have these days. But these guys here at Los Chapparos definitely deserve more than the minimum tip.

The place is not bad Mexican food for being on the island. They don't offer Al pastor other than in a taco or quesadilla. We got the carnitas with green salsa instead. The flautas was two very long ones they must use the burrito size flour tortillas. The beef was like from a can roast beef. It was good but nothing special. It doesn't come with guacamole we had to order a side order. They close early and the take RSVP. Parking is limited but you can park on the street. Service is okay but I think they have only one server. The fish taco didn't look like I expected but it was yummy. Chile releno is not a fluffy batter but still good. The beef hard taco was okay. Hard chicken taco was good but the taco shell wasn't like home made. Good service on the mainland I would have given them a 3 star but for the island it gets 4 since there aren't too many Mexican places that are good. The salsa had jalapeno and I am allergic to them so it made my experience less desirable.

So disappointed. We come here all the time and it never disappoints. Something has changed. More specifically the cook or chef or owner. I don't know. Our food was bland and not great. Beans were watery. Rice was bland. We always order the same things because we love it so much. My steak was so over cooked it was like rubber. Our other order of enchiladas was also not seasoned and wasn't good. Sad because this was our go to meal for takeout Mexican. The normal workers we always see there weren't there as well which made me think it's under new management. Maybe it was just an off night. I don't know but for the cost I'm not sure I would want to try again.

I understand that finding good Mexican food in Hawaii might seem like a long shot. Yet, after scouring Yelp and being drawn in by the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. It's exactly what you'd expect from a sit-down Mexican restaurant, complete with chips and salsa served as soon as you're seated and a variety of combination plates on the menu. The ambiance was spot-on, and the chips and salsa were decent enough. However, the food itself was a disappointment. My advice? Pass on this one.

Best Mexican I’ve ever had. We stumbled upon this place as we searched for Mexican and with the good reviews decided to give it a shot . Our Lyft driver told us it was a great choice (we’re tourists) and it was his favourite spot for Mexican.The staff and owner were so hospitable ! He recommended the top shelf Margaritas and he didn’t steer us wrong.. they were amazing . Food portions were very Generous.We will definitely be making aTrip Back before flying back homemade!
