I had the pastrami sandwich on whole wheat bread. It was okay. Would have been better if the pastrami was more spread out in the sandwich instead of piled in the middle. Rye bread would have been more tradional.

Been going here since they opened, and it is at least just as good, maybe better. ..and it continues to be my family fav. My dad loves the tuna salad sandwich, I love the Mala Salad with Shrimp. We really like the chicken salad in sandwiches and salads for when we feel like a change. It is so nice to have a healthy organic alternative in our neighborhood. I only wish they could make their really awesome salad dressing without soybean oil mayo and substitute in avocado mayo instead.

My husband always picks up our lunches at Mala Market for several reasons. Sandwiches are freshly made upon order and nothing but fresh veggies. They are super quick when ordering which is very convenient because we have a dental practice very close by and we eat as we go! Soups are great too! Maybe they should offer 1/2 sandwich and soup for kids and people who want something in their tummy's for a quick snack or lunch. Only a suggestion. All in all we enjoy Mala Market and great staff too! Try it, you won't regret it!

was craving something wholesome and drove all the way to hawaii kai to try this place. i'm not even a cold sandwich type of person but i saw so many pictures of this place and wanted to try it anyways! Ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the pastrami sandwich + avocado. I love the crunch texture and all of the produce tasted so fresh. The chicken salad was also decently seasoned and wasn't too dry. I loved the micro greens in the salad. The pastrami sandwich was also good but just a tad dry Definitely worth the drive and I'll be back again!

Mala market is a great grab and go healthy sandwich shop. I had the italian which came with whole grain bread, microgreens, carrots, purple cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and it seems like a bit of lettuce. i thought it was a bit overpriced for what it was at $15. If it had a bit more meat inside i would have been okay with it. It tastes really healthy due to the proportion of veggies to meat. Thats not a bad thing, i think it's just depending on what i am feeling at the moment. I do appreciate the attention to details with the sandwich. The carrots and purple cabbage are chopped nicely. I think the whole sandwich comes together well with a little salty plus sweet from the veggies and bread!

A sandwich always tastes better when somebody else makes it. There, I said it! It's the truth and you can't change my mind. Even better is when it's a decked out sandwich with all the fixing. Most of their sandwiches contain a beautiful green dressing, shredded carrots, purple cabbage, sprouts, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers. It's such a delightful and colorful sandwich that feels so healthy as it's wedged between Bob's Killer Bread. Sandwiches I've had: -Mala Delight -Chicken Salad -Tuna Salad -Turkey Avo Honestly, I love the mala delight sandwich as it has a generous serving of avocado. Somedays I want an extra heavy veggie based meal and Mala Market just hits that spot. The sandwiches come with a choice of salad or kettle chips. Pro Tip: If you get the salad, you can use the extra dressing to slather on your sandwich. OR, you can just get the chips and pay extra for a side of dressing and dip your chips in it. Lastly, your sandwich will be wrapped and packed beautifully. NO SMUSHED SANDWICHES. NO SOGGY CHIPS. NO FILLING FALLING OUT! The sandwiches are carefully wrapped in butcher's paper and sliced in half. You can pick up the sandwich halves and peel the paper away as you eat your sandwich. Gone are the days of taking a bite and having the filling blow out the back of the sandwich! The sandwiches are also packed in a nice take out container that retains it's shape. So you can stack the sandwiches in a bag and rest assured that you won't have a panini transformation somewhere.

wow! everything is so fresh, delicious and beautifully put together. could eat here everyday! the view aint bad either.

So i consider their sandwiches OG deli-home style, meaning instead of outrageous amounts of meat n cheese, they layer on bountiful amount of neatly prepped veggies. some might say its bland, but i say its light n delicate. i felt good after, instead of bloated. the view is peaceful n beautiful. nice spot for a quiet lunch.Parking: avoid parking near costco!

On the backside of the shopping plaza, near Costco, which inherently makes parking more challenging on the weekends. A relatively small menu, but that means that they make really good quality stuff. Very loaded sandwiches, good customer, service, and quick turnaround.
I was happy with the food and prompt service. I was surprised by the prices. $50 for three takeout wraps. No beverages.

Located in the same shopping area as Costco, Māla is tucked away close to the waterfront and in a very pretty location. Who knew that a sandwich gem was so close?We had the shrimp salad sandwich (4/5) and Italian avo special (4/5). Both were arranged beautifully and full of fresh veggies. The whole wheat bread was pretty good too. My Mom liked it so much she said it was, "the best sandwich she's had in years!" I guess that means we'll be back very soon.
