A long walk through the Royal Hawaiian Hotel to find this bar.Known for the Mai Tai it lives with that as the one thing it is known forOur original Mai Tai cocktails were tasty and better than some others locally. Worth the extra $$ and effort to say you had one here...you decide! We sat at the bar and our server was busy but very friendly.

Mai Tai bar wow what a view, you walk in through the halls of the hotel and then you find this Mai Tai bar down where the beach is, the view is mesmerizing, you hear the waves hitting, the breeze and the sound of the trees swaying, there's this peacefulness when you sit down and you take in the incredible scenery it captivates me. My sister and her kids and my daughter and I stayed at the Royal Hawaiian, so when we arrived we were all starving and her kids and my daughter and everyone was hangry lol! I walked down with the kids to get us a seat, as you can imagine it was super busy but the line actually went pretty quickly. We sat down and the ambiance and the pink lights everywhere and just the atmosphere with the reggae music and hearing my favorite Jboog song Let me love you, just was such a Hawaiian vibe and made me feel at peace even though there was quite a lot of stress to deal with. The last time I visited my home in Honolulu we stayed at the Royal Hawaiian. But I don't remember this restaurant. I ordered the lobster roll which was fantabulous if I must say so myself lol, so buttery and the bread they put it on was delicious. I had to order a Mai Tai of course, it was delicious yes lol! My sister ordered the Mahi Mahi, we also had the parmesan fries those were delicious, the kids had the tenders with fries. Those were good, the batter on the tenders were so crispy and the chicken was juicy, the fries were a bit salty but crispy I liked them a lot and they are pretty generous with the portions. My lobster roll which was amazing, came with these healthy chips I think you can but at sprouts but I really enjoyed them a lot! The service was great once they got to us since it was so busy. The girl that helped us gosh I forgot her name but she was a wonder server, remembered our order and got our food and drinks quickly it was a pleasant experience. We actually came here a few times for the tenders and fries, I also really enjoyed their drinks I didn't drink a lot of alcohol though which is fine cause I don't drink a lot, but their Mai Tai was pretty strong and delicious. I would recommend coming here it's beautiful the view and the food is delicious and the service is awesome they have live music sometimes too! I love the color pink it was so beautiful the little pink lamps they put on the tables it just looks so tropical. I give it 5 stars for delicious food, amazing service, incredible view and for the beautiful ambience! Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

If ever on the island of Oahu and you find yourself in Waikiki, do yourself a favour and go to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel (Big Pink Hotel) and enjoy the truffle fries and one of their specialty Mai Tais. I love this hotel as it's one of the first built in Waikiki. She is a grand old girl that is situated right on the white sandy beach. Your trip isn't complete unless you go enjoy a mai tai and enjoy the views from this wonderful bar/restaurant.

Amazing - authentic - I prefer the original Mai tai with lime juice! - updated I came twice more and tried each of the Mai tai and talked to the friendly bartender and other fellow tourists. My favorite is now 96 degree with mint ! And the Vietnamese wings - delicious!!!

Mai Tai tastes good, but the alcohol content is strong and makes you feel drunk. It's right in front of Waikiki Beach, so the atmosphere is nice and comfortable, so you can stay there for hours.

The decor was nice and the drinks were strong. There are locals here with entertainment for tourists like myself. I came for the convenience. I will definitely be back on my next work trip.

After hanging out at Waikiki beach for a while, we decided to pop by Mai Tai Bar for a nice ocean-front drink. We've been to Mai Tai Bar several times during previous trips to Hawaii, and their drinks are always great. This time around, we got their classic Royal Hawaiian mai tai and a kiwi cooler. Both drinks were great, but we couldn't help but notice prices have increased substantially over the years. For example, their classic Royal Hawaiian mai tai is $21, which is really pricey in my book. Service was a bit of a miss. When you arrive at Mai Tai Bar, there's a sign that tells you to grab any open table and seat yourself. We did that and waited for a while for anyone to greet us, bring us menus, etc. After that, we again waited quite a bit for someone to stop by to take our order. Drinks came relatively promptly, but that was pretty much the end of service for us. When we wanted to get our check, we had to flag someone down. After waiting 10+ minutes, we started to look around and saw the person we had flagged for our check standing behind the bar laughing and chatting with a fellow employee. We put our card down immediately once she brought the check to avoid another delay, and it again took a while for someone to bring our card/receipt back. Overall, location is great, service is a miss, and drinks are expensive but quite strong.

The Mai Tai Bar is a great place to take out of town guests. It's one of the few places actually on the beach. The atmosphere is lively and fun and a little nicer than Dukes. It seems the food has gotten better over the years. I've been there many times with friends and on dates. The last time I was there I took my 16yr old niece+her friend. We had such a great time and I think they really enjoyed the Hawaiian tropic feel of the restaurant and of the Iconic Royal Hawaiian. They also have live music, and if you time it right, you can watch the Royal Hawaiian luau

Definitely expensive (overpriced?) but I’ve really enjoyed both times we stopped here for a drink and bite to eat. Family friendly and great staff.

Currently staying at the Royal Hawaiian and was told we “Need” to try the Mai Tai here. For $21 each, it came in a plastic cup and was average at best.We had $5 Maitai’s for happy hour at a bar elsewhere and it was the same. We have drank cocktails at some high end places throughout the world. This actually is laughable!!!!If you want an overpriced drink on the beach this is the place for you.$52 with tip for two run of the mill drinks.Service was also average at best. Slapped water down on the table and asked if we were ready. Didn’t say anything about the menu or ask if we’ve ever been or had questions.Let’s expect better than this and stop the madness.

This place used to have a great cocktail menu, but how the mighty fall. The current Mai Tai offerings bring shame to the Mai Tai cocktail. It is a complete money grab with low quality booze and a premium price. Not worth it anymore! No mahalo.
