Nice for small groups to larger functions. Several party banquet rooms. Parking is valet parking only, $8 pervehicle plus tip. Congested parking lot, where valets puzzle together cars in lot. Older large house stucture, turned into restaurant. Had a baby party there of 60 guest upstairs (2nd floor) no elevators. Also, was there for a 50th birthday party (100+ guest) in 1st level room.

Great food and good service in a traditional tea house in the Alewa Heights residential area. Valet parking now available for $8. Arriving early may, award you with free street parking.

If I could I would give this place a hundred stars. I went here for a class reunion. First off the parking lot is small so one must valet unless you park in the neighborhood somewhere. Our cost was $6 plus tips so it's not a lot of money. Of course the view here is gorgeous and I like how in our room they had put a picture of our high school's front campus. What made this a wonderful surprise was their food is truly like how we had it in the sixties and seventies. It was so good that I had a huge party in my mouth that night. I'm not going to list all the items they had but the things that stood out. They had the best belly pork in shoyu sugar sauce and that thing just melted in my mouth. The next was the fried tofu in a sauce . There was shrimp tempura but I'm allergic. They had a great spaghetti mac salad and it was a dry one so it was really good. I hate those with the sloppy mayonnaise. There was a big platter of various types of sushi. The quality of the food I cannot rant enough about. I would gladly crash a party there to eat that food again. In my quest for the food of my childhood I have found the last bastion of it. It has stuck to the true Japanese-American flavors. The issue I have with today's food is that it is too sugary and the recipes have changed drastically. Even a simple beef stew that is not sugar-filled is hard to find. I love that Natsunoya has kept unchanged what Japanese American food originally tasted like. I think they found something that works great and stuck to it. The only sad thing is that it is a banquet hall and not a restaurant. It seems that covid was a rough time for them as any restaurant business at that time, especially one that is catered just for parties. The hall is simple but clean and very spacious. Shoes are taken off at the entrance. It's not the fancy ballrooms of hotels but it's not ghetto either. As for the staff it was a buffet so they only really bought out the foods to the buffet line. Ours was a BYOB affair. I believe there was another party going on so they must have big rooms to accommodate them. If you're going to Natsunoya please feel free to invite me and I will pay you to go. LOL

Great place to celebrate and have gatherings/parties. This would be my 4th time coming here. Have been here for holiday get togethers and most recently a babyshower. They have different rooms that can hold so many people depending on how big of your gathering will be. The food is wonderful! Like really delicious most especially Japanese buffet style. They even pack up the left overs for you at the end! I highly recommend this place to have large gatherings and parties!

Nestled amidst the lush backdrop of the Mānoa valley, Natsunoya Tea House stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of Japanese tradition and Hawaiian aloha spirit. The establishment's century-long heritage is palpable from the moment you step onto its grounds. The traditional tea ceremonies offered here are an enlightening experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the intricate rituals and profound philosophies of Japanese tea culture. The meticulous attention to detail, from the whisking of the matcha to the arrangement of the tea utensils, reflects a deep reverence for the art.Beyond the tea ceremonies, Natsunoya shines as a premier banquet facility. Whether you're marking a special occasion or just gathering for a meal, the culinary offerings are sublime. The sushi and sashimi are crafted with precision, using fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the various kaiseki-style dishes are both visually stunning and delectably satisfying. But perhaps the crowning glory of Natsunoya is its staff. Their unwavering commitment to upholding the establishment's storied traditions, coupled with genuine warmth and hospitality, ensures that every visit is memorable. With its panoramic views of the city, serene ambiance, and exceptional service, Natsunoya Tea House is a cherished gem in Honolulu, offering a truly unique and enriching experience.

Great service, delicious and fresh food. Ate with friends at the sushi bar. We ordered the Omakase. If I remember correctly, it was only $65 for 14 pieces of chefs choice nigiri. Sushi Chef was so sweet and easy to talk to. Great experience. This place is BYOB! No bottle or cork fee!!!! Parking lot is in the front. Very cute traditional Japanese architecture. I recommend calling and making reservations if you want to eat at the sushi bar.

This place never disappoints! In this review, I was actually holding and hosting the party, so not just a guest. The staff was easy to work with and very helpful. They made me feel welcomed and my guests all had a great time. All the food is amazing and delicious!! There is no corkage fee and this is a BYOB. I brought in a cooler and they also accommodated us with wine buckets. I brought my own ice for the cooler. Our party was in the Ichigo room. It's easy to access on the 2nd floor. This room has the Diamond Head view and accommodates 10 people. There are 2 tables and they provide white table cloths. I brought my own table covers for the water/drink station and the gift table.Love this place! Will definitely hold more events here.
