Husband and I are visiting from Phoenix AZ for our wedding anniversary and we are in love with Korean BBQ and have tried plenty different restaurants. Let me tell you, the atmosphere here is beautiful and welcoming. The food is amazing the sam goes perfectly and it’s all fresh and tastes homemade. I have nothing bad to say, come here if you want your belly happy and full.

The quality and taste of the meat are good, and it is especially delicious when dipped in the red sauce called beef pork belly sauce. In fact, the soybean paste stew tastes better than the meat ?? The side dishes are also good. However, when I went on a weekday evening, it was difficult to eat because there were so many people who seemed to have had some alcohol and it was so noisy.

I decided to check out New Hyung Je which is next door to Millions. They are located across from Runners Route and at the corner of Sheridan and Makaloa Street. I came for dinner with a friend around 6pm without reservations. We walked into the restaurant and saw 2 empty booths in the back but I guess they were reserved for 4 or more people so the lady sent us outside to wait. We waited 15 minutes and got seated at one of the tables that were originally empty.Everyone around us spoke Korean and they were fluent but we never had any issues ordering with the staff. We got brisket and skirt steak for grilling. The banchan (vegetable side dishes) came quick followed by the plate of meat. The meat was tough and the side dishes were okay. There wasn't anything unique or amazing about the food. We didn't need much servicing from the staff, we grilled our meats, ate, and left. The ventilation in the restaurant is not great so you are going to leave here with the scent of grilled meat on you for the rest of the evening. The parking in this area was tough. They have a parking lot behind the building but the spaces are compact and most of the stalls are reserved for residents who live upstairs. It's better to park on Sheridan Street since you don't have to feed the meter after 6pm but there's trees so the birds might poop all over the car.

I love going out and eating wonderful korean food, from the banchan to the sizzling meats, to the delicious sauces, and the fresh lettuce to wrap everything up in.I don't remember all the things we ordered, but it was a blurry meat filled experience, with I think a side order of soft tofu soup, and soju, and some beers.Service was decent considering how busy it was, it was what we could hope and expect in such a bustling place.

The Owner Young is my friend. I know her for 35 years. She works very hard. And the foods are so good.

SOOOO GOOD!! Me and my family went to this restaurant thinking it would be an average experience eating out but this was far from that. This restaurant provides all you need such as saltiness, sweetness, and a lot more! the service was amazing as the workers were very nice and sweet to us. We also loved spending time together as a family and the restaurant provides lots of privacy if needed. To sum things up, this place is a must do if you are a local or a tourist visiting. This place is so great.

Workers were nice. They knew what to do. The Pork was good, the marinate was authentic korean. I wish they would at least ask to refill the banchan though. Cost is ok for what you get. Kind of hole in the wall style. But I like how they use the asian aunts as workers! And the cooks all look like they been cooking for awhile. We got the Pork ribs and Soft Tofu stew. The pork was grilled very well and stew had good broth. It seemed a lot of people order the meats here. Private lot but it gets full fast!

Came here because my father in law wanted a noodle soup they had. This place is TINY and parking is limited to street or back parking lot with only a few designated spaces for the restaurant. If street parking, you pay at the meter and it's free after a certain time. Walked in and the smell was immediately bbq. Each table has the bbq grill in the center. We were seated in a back corner and waited on immediately. Staff was cordial and food was out quick. I ordered the bulgogi and mandu. The food just wasn't as good as other places we had been to this week. The bulgogi was not very flavorful. The mandu was ok, the sauce it came with had very little flavoring. I actually gf more flavor dipping in my daughter's soup.

We've been coming to New Hyung Je since they first opened. In fact, when they were still named Don e Don on Keeaumoku, we were regulars there. My family and I live a few blocks away so it's quite convenient for us to dine here. Food is decent and consistent, but service has gone downhill the past few times. One of the middle aged female waitress has an extremely bad attitude! She constantly tried to ignore us, and if we were lucky enough to get her attention, she would yell at us telling us, "You gotta wait!!" The restaurant wasn't even that busy when we were dining there. Maybe we were treated that way since we weren't Korean...? She seemed to be quite polite and courteous with the two tables behind us that happened to both be Korean patrons. Throughout the entire meal, we were very nice and respectful towards her. Unfortunately, it wasn't replicated back towards us. She was very rude even when handing us our containers & bag for our leftovers. After today, they have lost us as their regular customers!

My wife and I came in around 8pm on a Thursday night. We got seated quickly. The workers are nice and the place is comfortable with circulating ac. The food took longer than expected, but it was worth it. We got kimchi soup and salted chicken. They provided banchan (side dishes) which was good. The soup reminded of my mom's kimchi soup when she used to make for us before she passed away.

We went here for Gamjatang, not BBQ, but they had crossed it off the menu so our bad luck! We decided to order a spicy squid snd a kimchi jigae. We were served a good variety of banchan and the kimchi is really good. The spicy squid is served with either noodles or rice, we chose noodles. The serving is huge! You can easily share this. The kimchi jigae was very good, as I remember from living in Korea. Pork, dubu, and loads of perfectly sour kimchi. The squid was great, just spicy enough and cooked perfectly. I can’t speak to the bbq, but their menu dishes are great! Easy street parking. It’s not a big restaurant and wasn’t very busy; they have the call buttons on the tables for when you need service.

Had the pork ribs and spicy chicken. Both came on sizzling hot platter and spicy perfection. Serving size was super general and we'll be having it again for lunch tomorrow. The ba chan was super tasty. We had to stop eating it because we thought we might fill up too much. Service was excellent. Uk Cha gave us tips on the menu and cut up our meats for us. Love the pampering. Ambiance was ok. Bathroom clean, which is important to me! Ample parking in the back and street metered parking available too.
