Best Vietnamese food in Kaka'ako. Their homemade chili crisp is a great combo of spice, lemongrass and acidity.

For some reason since the pandemic the price of Pho has skyrocketed. I mean everything has gone up in price, but pho seems to have gone up more than any other food. Pre pandemic, it was about $11. Now, if you're lucky its $16. My usual Pho place, Pho Tri on Kalakaua and Beretania had a special on Saturdays. Buy one bowl at about $11, get the second one for 50% off. Two people could dine for $20. After discontinuing this offer, they raised the price up to $16 meaning the cost had gone from $17 to $32. I stopped going there and stopped eating Pho as a result. For $16 you can still get a fresh caught fish plate at Nico's which to me represents much better value.Anyway I still get the urge to eat Pho and this place was convenient with excellent reviews. We got one Rare Steak and Meatball Pho ($17) and one Seafood Pho ($17.50).I would say everything was average. My dining partner said the broth was too oily. It didn't bother me too much. Size was average, amount of protein was average, amount of garnishments was average, taste was average. Everything is what you'd expect.Service was good. Water was refilled, and whom I presume were the owners were friendly. I think the price is a little high, but its a small restaurant and they need to make a living. I would go back if I wanted Pho and didn't want to drive. Some places in Chinatown, the taste and portion size is a little bit better and the prices are a couple bucks less.

Friendly service. Good summer rolls but the sauce is inconsistently good(sometimes too much peanut and sometimes not enough fried onions). Their brisket banh mi is really good, towards the end of the week. Seems like the beginning of the week hasn't given the meat a chance to marinate/stew/and absorb the flavors as much. They have a fairly decent selection of Vietnamese canned beverages, like Yeo's soy milk and grass jelly drink. Parking can be a bit sparse at times.

Did a quick take-out on a weeknight. My hubby liked his combo banh-mi. My tofu one was OK..it was a little skimpy and I was still hungry afterward.
The tofu bahn mi is great! I enjoyed the veggie spring rolls too. I love the restaurant and staff too.

The staff is very friendly! You'll receive great menu recommendations if you have any questions about what to eat. Any of the rice items are amazing. The pork chop is flavorful and tender because they soak it in pineapple juice. Also, the Vietnamese iced coffee is delicious. It's strong, so you will stay up all night if you drink it late! Regarding the ambiance, the location is clean and has a nice AC unit. There's only street parking, so I recommend going after 5 p.m. or taking an Uber. Overall, this is a great restaurant with amazing Vietnamese cuisine!

Parking: Street parkingIt's been a while since I had delicious Vietnamese rice noodles. The restaurant feels old but is clean. The owner's cooking skills seem to be good. The banh mi bread is crispy on the outside and delicious!
