We picked up food to go and it was fantastic. Not only was it delicious but it was a great value for the $ as they were so generous with the beef. I had the SPICY GARLIC YAKINIKU BOWL and the beef tasted prime and lean with amazing flavor - even the rice was wonderful. It was my favorite meal in Honolulu.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Honolulu. There is so much variety and everything I've tried has been great quality and service is extremely efficient.I've had the miso salmon, chicken teriyaki, and miso butterfish.

Chill eatery that goes hard with its food. The miso butter fish can compete with Nobu’s miso black cod. The tako and mochiko chicken were a joy to eat as well. Strong flavors, well breaded and fried, goes down well with a can of green tea.

First time trying this sister restaurant of the one in Kapahulu since i didnt feel like drving all the way there. Menu is basically the same, prices slightly higher since its in kakaako. Service is friendly and all food ordered is in takeout containers so you have the choice to takeout or dine in. Ordered the pork hamburger with demi sauce and upgraded the rice to shiso wakame rice for $1 more. Dined in, place is smaller than the original restaurant but still has that quirky feel with old nostalgic items. Food was good, only complaint i have is get better food containers since the food and rice gets stuck to the plate, if you wait and dont eat it right away itll soak into the container. Parking is free if you leave before the first hour, so easier to get to than the kapahulu one?Parking: Free parking for the first hour in the Salt Parking Garage.

i make sure to stop here at least once on every oahu trip. everything on the menu is excellent and i always return to try different things. i'm all about the ahi katsu but the sleeper hit is the creamy chicken (japanese style cream stew with rice).

My friends and I have been to both locations and even though they are consistent amongst both, I think I like this location slightly better. Especially on a nice beautiful day, this place has nice big and spacious tables for all of your food. Just sit back and enjoy the delicious food and the beautiful weather! My friends and I ordered (almost everything comes with rice and pasta salad):-Mochiko chicken plate is crispy and for flavor! I need to figure out how they make this because I think I spent too much money ordering this all of the time!- Fried chicken plate is also good, but with a slightly different texture than the other chicken plate. Still flavorful and delicious but more standard to regular fried chicken.-Grilled Ahi plate is so good! Surprisingly not overcooked which is what happens when you get grilled ahi, but this was still really juicy and perfectly cooked. Also it is a pretty big piece so it was totally worth it!-Furikake Salmon plate was my favorite! It has this mayo type sauce on it and the furikake is sweet and salty which is the perfect balance of flavors for salmon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Super delicious Creamy Cajun Shrimp plate, filled with creamy asparagus, mushrooms, onions, and tons of jumbo shrimp with a little kick!! Makes my day! The menchi katsu is good too, but the Creamy Cajun Shrimp tastes way better!! (Less oily...) Can eat inside without wait service so tip is optional. ;)) A great place for a dinner out!

Must try there Mochiko Chiken plate. It was delicious. Ask for extra of there in-house spicy aioli sauce. You'll need to dip those juice fried chicken for extra spicy kick.

Sesame/goma dressing was tasty and the greens were crisp. Tofu salad was also good with a slightly vinegar-y tang and a good mix of veggies and tofu.Runny egg was served cold for mixing into the hot pork and rice (i got brown rice). The pork was soft and flavorful.A very satisfying lighter lunch. I was a bit too focused eating to go into much detail, lol.It is a smaller space, and on a hot day, it can be a little stuffy. It's right next to a larger road at the back of Salt, so the heat can be heavy on the outside benches, but inside is relatively safe, even though it's mainly fans keeping things circulating:
