This feels like local gourmet food ♡♡I went there around 06:50, just as it was about to open, and there was a long line! !The lane I lined up in didn't have Japanese support, but I managed to get what I wanted to order lol.The lady clerk seemed to be able to speak Japanese well, but the young loco girl couldn't understand Japanese, so she did her best in broken English! ! lol

Not sure how ”local" the locals consider this spot but it was mentioned by an Uber driver and we decided to give it a try. Glad we did. Food is good, service is fast, and all at a great price. Mac salad was surprisingly good for just being Mac and mayonnaise.

Food is overrated. Very soggy. Mahi was bad and no flavor. Teriyaki steak was average. But the katsu pork was amazing and so is their gravy! Those were the highlights

We were recommended this drive in by a local because they serve local dishes. I got the loco moco plate and my husband got the tri meat plate, which included Mahi, chicken, and beef. We were severely disappointed with the lack of flavor. Very underwhelming. It lacks basic salt. We couldn't finish our plates. The price and serving sizes are generous. The staff was kind. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it to friends and won't be returning. The bathroom was also filthy, but the kitchen area was clean. There is on-site parking.Kid-friendliness: Hamburgers and fries

I practically grew up going to Rainbiow's since it opened in 1962. I knew the owner of old, unfortunately like anything else the quality of thier food has not been as it used to be that Made Raindow Drive inn a popular place to dine. The original boneless chicken of old used to be crispy and tasty, today it is soggy, soft and bland, good but not like before. The shoyu chicken today is hard, and over cooked. The gravy is so skimpy. You almost likely have to pay for extra gravy or it will be so dry and hard. So I don't order both chicken plates anymore. The chicken longrice uses a cheaper longrice as before and not as good. I have noticed many of the dishes has lost its original flavor, quality and quantity. The only dish that hasn't changed its flavor is the good old chili dog plate the flavor is still the same. I usually by an extra plain bowl if side chili just to be satisfied. Yes, I have not been going to Rainbows for awhile. I go to Tanaka's like many of my friends that I turn on too. Now that's another story.

Good value for comfort food, but it was underwhelming otherwise. We had the loco moco plate - the burger was thin and not juicy, gravy was okay. Overall combo with the macaroni pasta was good for an after-hike food. The fish burger kinda of tasted like McDonald’s filet burger. Would recommend to try but wouldn’t go out of my way to come. Service was really friendly!

Great place for authentic food. Spend 50 get 5 back on loyalty program. I've been coming here since the 80s. Best price, and more food. Take a mixed plate for a picnic.

I ate the Mix Plate, and no matter how cheap the food was, it wasn't as good as the food you get at a cafeteria. All three were very dry, as they were made a long time ago and only served warm. Maybe that's why there was a lot of oil in it and the aftertaste was very harsh. Even the gravy sauce that had to be ordered extra felt so bad that I thought ketchup and pork cutlet sauce would be better. Ultimately, I ate it for dinner, but after eating it, my child said he had a stomach ache, and I also had gas and felt unwell. I kind of regretted going all the way there to eat. I really don't know why it's famous, but if you want a cost-effective meal, I think a better choice would be a lunch box or a steak shack from a hygienic place like Waikiki market or Mitsuwa.
