Hands down one of the best or if not the BEST food on the island. Went to Dukes, Tanaka, sxy, and a bunch of other eateries and this one HIT THE SPOT. Plan it well in advance and this hidden gem will fill your needs!

The prime rib is so yummy! I know I should try some other things but why? For $25, that is a great deal. We called in the order, as recommended by others and it was ready when we got there. I had to be the one to get it since I was not driving. Ray's Cafe is on the corner of North King and Kopke St. Kopke St. is one-way makai, just an fyi. And the place is just an unassuming space with nothing special about it. You walk in and there's a bunch of tables and they will greet you promptly. I have to say I was a bit overwhelmed. While they put my salad together, a gentleman let me sit at his table. When we got home, I was surprised to also see mac salad. Which is what the bf wanted instead of the toss salad I got. Winners! Would I return? You betcha. But I'll prolly do the same thing and make sure that there's a driver and a picker-upper after we call in the order. Oh, one of the specials when I went was prime rib AND crab for $60. There was a guy in the corner grinding away on the crab. Nice!

Look at this food: Ham Hocks with Black ice peas Perfectly cooked & delicious!! Generous portion! Fried Chicken Plate: 3 meaty thighs, fried in a tasty batter , 2 scoops white rice & toss or Macaroni salad. I can love eating at Ray's , you may have to wait awhile for you food. but it's sure worth the wait!

Small hole in the wall restaurant in the heart of Kalihi on King Street. Always call in your order beforehand since this place gets busy no matter what day it is. Cash only too. Usually go with another person since they can jump out of the car, pay and pick up the orders since street parking is tough. But the food here is worth it, big portions, delish and worth the price. Daily specials change daily, but they are known for the Rays Combo (fried chicken and Hamburger Steak) and the Prime rib. Nuff said. Go down and try em for yourself if you havent. 5 stars???Parking: Street parking wherever space is available. Usually bring another person to grab the food while waiting in the car

Hidden gem IYKYK Cash only! Owner is very personable and good to his customers. So many good items on the menu but i've heard they're known for their fried chicken. Small seating area but luckily they have a seating area.

Thought it would be a good place to eat at, so a friend of mine, and myself came here to eat before I picked up my rental. We were going to go with 4 people, but the other two had a change of plans last minute, making the request for a four-seat table awkward. We asked for a water, and were handed our cutlery, and that's when I realized I did not want to eat here ever.The knife had a large streak of grease on both sides almost as if it was dipped in something. I took my finger, and ran it down the side, and collected it on my finger. I showed both my finger, and the cutlery to my buddy, who recoiled a bit. The cups had black bits in the bottom, and were also dirty. Then we sat there awkwardly trying to get out. Then I looked up, and my friend had left faster than I'd noticed as people were coming in, and that gave the owner an opportunity to start insulting me for leaving while I waited for an opening. He was upset since I wasted his time, and I can understand that, but there is no excuse for a restaurants utensils to be covered in a thick grease, or going off on me with other customers around. If that's how your utensils look, how can you seriously expect me to trust the pots and pans you use to cook the food with? I should've took a picture, because I've never eaten at a restaurant with that much grime on something I'm expected to eat with.

Came here today and I have to say the lobster was not as fresh as I couldn't eat some parts of it. It wasn't on the menu and I did ask for it maybe I should have stuck to the crab legs. I realized the last time I got the crab legs and without the prime rib they said they give me more snow crabs but after today I don't think i did. I'll still come here as I find the food to be yummy and some things are price well. The prime rib was not medium rare but then where do you go do they make it perfect. It was more on the medium well but it was yummy the prime rib. I'll have to come back in a Friday to get the oxtail stew. Felix is super nice he makes this place a five star place. I just wish I didn't get the lobster as it kind of had freezer burn on parts of it.
