Came here with the husband as we both had a day off. We don't normally dine at bar and grills type of place but I was craving for the works fried rice so bad. Arrived here not knowing they open at 4pm. imagine...me so desperate to eat here that I made my impatient husband wait it out for 1 hour in the parking lot while I napped 355pm. My alarm went off. Walked in, they seated us immediately right next to the TV. My kind of dining. I'd rather talk or watch tv while I eat instead of be on my phone. Looked at the menu, Spock out the happy hour menu! Cheap eats foreals! Tiffany (I remembered her name! Trust, if she's ur server when u done in - SHE WILL TAKE CARE OF U) was our server. She let us know of the portions sizes of all that we wanted to order. She recommended a few things. She chatted and joked with us making us feel like family. When the food came to our table, we didn't wait long for everything to come out but everything was nice and hot temperature wise. Pork chop - my husband was raving about this and I HATE PORK. But I tried it and was fried to perfection. Golden brown coat, seasoned well and moist. Fried Ahi Belly - I ate majority of this . Golden brown, no fishy taste, really moist and flaky in the inside. Yakisoba - we thought that it was going to have a burnt taste due to a little char BUT it was nice. Like a little Smokey taste to it. The works fried rice - the WINNAH! Even though I pluck out the pork from it, I'm in love with this fried rice! Kalbi - perfect portion since I'm the only one who eats this lol. Great marinade to it. Slight sweetness with a nice char taste from grill and meat was cooked to perfection! Fired Chicken - was the least favorable. It's supposed to be with a Korean sauce but I didn't want it sauced. I hoped for more seasoning on the coating batter. Drum roll please..........THE BEST BROWNIE SUNDAE I HAD EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! freshly baked, not sweet at all, it was like a flourless brownie and it was a velvety fudge chocolate that melted in ur mouth. I could have done without the chocolate sauce and put a little crunch on it like Oreos but man oh man was this BOMB!

Great food. Served family style. Reservation is highly recommended. They have valet parking for $7. Place gets really busy. The pan fried pork chops is off the chains. Goes great with the fried rice and the boneless kalbi. Their lychee mojito Is really good also.

Haven't been here for a while and this place is good for bigger family style dine in. The portions here are more than enough for my family of 5. The famous pan fried pork chops is definitely a island favorite and a must have when eating here. The pork chops are thick cuts and not dry at all. I recommend dining in and eating it while it's nice and hot. The service is ok and do recommend this place for some local foods.

Side Street Inn - On the Strip (Kapahulu) Overall: **** Recommended **** Food: **** Value: ** ($32 for 1 lbd. pork chops?) Menu: *** (before Covid was larger) Ambiance: *** (packed with people) Service: **** Parking: **** (valet, self or street) Side Street Inn has some of the the best bar foods on the island with many local favorites. They have a good variety and most of the food is tasty. The portions are large, and the price is hefty. It's best go with a large group, So, you can have a larger variety of dishes. The restaurant is family friendly and set up for large parties. If you're a visitor and want to try "local" dishes, Side Street is the place. The foods are the same at both locations. The Kapahulu is newer, larger and they also have party rooms. We use to go regularly, but their prices have just gotten ridiculous! You can get most of the dishes at other restaurants, with better taste, and for less. Or, I can cook it at home for 1/4 the cost. The hours are more like a restaurant than a bar: Open Monday-Friday 4 PM - 8:30 PM & Saturday-Sunday 11 AM - 8:30 PM (as of 4/2024). RATINGS & RECOMMENDED ORDER: Hoisin Ribs = A (not as good as Roy's) Pork Chops = A Farmer's Salad = A Garlic Chicken = B Potato/Mac Salad = B Fried Rice = B Miso Chicken = B Sizzling Boneless Kalbi = B, but expensive Teri Beef = C Garlic Fries = C Edamame = D (no flavor) Yelp: Website: YELP: Milton K Sorry! Yelp allows only one 12 second video & the remaining to 3 seconds, with maximum of 10 pictures/videos. Food is always spot on and beers are cold. Do you really need anything else? Call ahead for a reservation if you have a large party. Note - there is a 2 hr time limit

Our Wonderful friend from the islands highly recommended Side Street Inn to us.This was our second feast here (dined here in 2023) and it did not disappoint. We ordered our usual, Collin’s Favorites.Crispy pork chops, tender Kalbi beef and garlic chicken with a scrumptious crunch yet tender. What’s not to like?? We Luv the food and the friendly service. Served family style, you’ll have full bellies or left overs.Everything was on point from the delicious food to impeccable service.Thank You and we’ll see y’all again.

Heard they had the best fried rice on the Island. Had it, didn’t finish it but it was solid. On a one to ten, I would give it a solid 8.5. The quantity could have fed 4 grown men and it cost $26 and some change. Friendly, attractive woman took my to-go order…I regret not getting the chicken to go with it but nonetheless it was good. Parking is a little sketch over there since there’s a huge parking lot on the side away from Jack in the Box. I went on a Saturday and didn’t pay but kept a close eye on my car so it wouldn’t get broken into by the indigent or towed. The spot is located inside the office building that didn’t look like the restaurant could be in. You literally have to walk in the office building and viola you’re in the lobby of the restaurant. I would put more signage indicating the business location. Anywho, the inside looked like a larger dive bar but it was decent for the most part. I would totally go back again to try other things on the menu since the fried rice was popular per the local ppl on Island.

The Side Street is a MUST for locals and tourists alike. Excellent food with a local flair. Great service. Lots of sizzling coming off the dishes and the decor is a little tired but no one goes for the decor.Dietary restrictions: It’s pretty meat centric but they do have veggie and gluten free menus.

Side street Inn (SSI): Decent place but food quality is lacking. They make up for their less than Oishi grinds by offering cheap prices on drinks. We had their Garlic Chicken and kalbi beef. The chicken was rubbery and the beef had more fat than actual meat. Also had a Chinese Chicken Salad that looked and tasted like they scraped something out from a local binjo ditch. Price wise it’s not too expensive but I’d much rather eat at a local 7-11 than return to SSI.

Service needs improvement. Some of our food came out late and with no apology. Our waitress was a bit rude.

Excellent meal and atmosphere. We had the Prix Fixe which includes edamame, farmer’s salad, fried rice, kalibriert and pork chops. Was more than enough for 4 adults. All the dishes were fantastic. Highly recommend making a reservation. The place was packed the whole time we were there from 6:30 pm.Parking: Use the valet parking under the building for $7. Other parking is hard to find and just as expensive. Cash only.
