It's a great experience dining at LaVie. The four course meal is artistically prepared and elegantly presented. The flavor is subtle but profound. The staff are conversational but not chatty. They express their warm welcome but not overwhelming. The service is pleasant. We definitely visit LaVie again!

We had the Hy's pop up menu. The menu was shortened due to the pop-up nature of the restaurant and the food was up to Hy's standards and was very good. The server was friendly and knew what he was doing, but the service was slow and took away from the enjoyment of the evening. We had to ask for our cheese toast twice and we ordered a second batch which never came. They might have been working out the kinks on the pop-up format, but they do have to improve the service levels.

My wife and I had difference courses each so we can try out different dishes. The food was excellent all the way up to the last main dish. The main dish was good but the Bluefin toro dish was so so. We eat bluefin toro often in Japan so we know it well. This toro was a bit fishy and my wife had to ask for lemon. The veal dish was good but a bit heavy. The desert at the end was very good. All in all it was a pleasant meal as Hawaii really doesn't have many gourmet classy restaurants.

Disappointed. Food servings were very small, even for the main course. My husband's fish entree was the size of two fish sticks - four bites total. Service was very polished but not very sincere. We were told that the special was chicken and unlimited champagne. Our first pour of champagne was short, and the bartender promised to top it off which he never did. We had to wait forever for a second pour by another server. When the bill came, we were billed by the glass. We told them that we were told by the hostess that it was unlimited champagne. They confronted the young hostess but did not apologize or amend our bill. Needless to say, we didn't go again during our visit. Would not recommend to our friends or family.
Outstanding food, service and ambience. Live piano music made the evening magical. We ended up doing shared alacarte dishes. We asked the waiter Carl for recommendations and went by it. All was perfect, thank you Carl! Loved my turmeric ginger cocktail.

Le petit-déjeuner était fantastique. I enjoyed myself at La vie, the food was great. It came out beautifully and the staff were incredibly friendly. They know the menu in and out. For brunch it's a seasonal menu so it changes fairly often, and if you're not a local this is a fun menu to come back and experience. The views are beautiful and it's located in a higher end hotel so you have a lot of career restaurant staff who really know how to make you feel like a princess. Parking is easy as they validate it through the hotel. Truly the best part is the coffee. They have the best coffee in downtown!

Vegetarian tasting menu was creative, fun and delicious. My partner is pescatarian, no shellfish, and they tried to sub in a swordfish dish, which she also does not eat quickly remedied and otherwise delightful. Great service by Nick. Beautiful fireworks! Recommend.
The server did not pay attention to us. I've waited for 20min+ for Diet Coke. We called our server more than 3times, but he never showed up. The server did not ask the food and how we were doing; however, he asked about every other table. We feel discriminated against. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Stunning views over Waikiki. Although there is a set menu, the kitchen readily accommodated food allergies. The sommelier was helpful in providing suggestions, and our server was excellent in her knowledge of the menu. Fantastic wine list with interesting options.
