Delicious food, great service! The signature martini (pineapple & coconut) were too easy to drink (a bit steep at $19ea!). The dragon roll was amazing, as were all our entrées (Butterfield, based short ribs & whole snapper). I appreciate the half servings available for some entrées (I didn't even finish my whole dish).

Very nice dining experience. The ambiance and noise level is very low, which makes having a nice dinner very pleasant. Food was good as always. The staff was helpful in helping our party to have appetizer items (crab cakes and pork ribs) as entrees. Desserts were yummy!

Still amazing after all these years. Great service, great food, terrific view of the Bay - just a wonderful dining experience. Misoyaki butterfish, chinese-style steamed fish, salmon, beef ribs and, of course, Mama's meatloaf - all were first rate. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome.

I'm so happy to have visited Roy's of Hawaii Kai. I've been to the one in Waikiki and Ko Olina. My friends from the Mainland thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

We have gone to the Original Roy's in Hawaii Kai for special occasions for numerous years. We have never had a bad meal and our servers have always attentive without rushing us through our meal. My husband and I recently went to the Original roy's for our anniversary and everything was wonderful. I requested to be upstairs near the window for sunset, which the restaurant provided. It will continue to be our favorite restaurant for celebrations.

We felt as if they are coasting on their reputation. Overly sweet and rich sauces drown out the fish. We felt a bit rushed and my birthday was celebrated by giving me a little party hat.. in most” better” restaurants one is given a complimentary dessert with a candle. Same old menu but getting pricey. Competition has overtaken Roy's as a go to destination

This is our favorite Restaurant in all Hawaii. Food and service is five star ALWAYS. It was our anniversary dinner. They went out of their way to make it special. My husband is not a fish person, but here at Roy's he is. I always have the Butterfish. It is fantastic! Our special thanks to Brandon and Kalena for a wonderful dining experience. This Roy's has the best view of all!

Never miss a chance to eat at Original Roy's, one of the birthplaces of Pacific Rim cuisine. This restaurant is a great example of "casual fine dining", a place where the dining room overlooking Maunalua Bay feels special enough for an evening out but maintains a casual vibe, the service is professional and attentive, without "overdoing" it. We are very pleased that Roy's, unlike many restaurants, does not squeeze the tables together so you never feel as if you are being crowded. Roy's has done an extraordinary job of finding and retaining some of the best and friendliest wait people in Hawaii. Four of us sampled sushi, zucchini bao buns, butterfish, salmon and the seafood combo and all the dishes were excellent. A good and well-priced wine list adds to the pleasure. We have been eating at Roy's for years and frequently, so sometimes, we wish the menu would change a little. But we understand that it's hard to mess with success.

Delicious fusion cuisine, as always. Roys offers consistency in service and quality of food, and you can always requests a favorite table. We prefer to dine inside on the lower level lounge, but you can always be seated outdoors, or upstairs where there are bigger views of the ocean. Cheers to great local food and a friendly atmosphere!

Overall we had an enjoyable experience. The service was great, but the restaurant was crowded and loud. The food was good, the cocktails were mostly ice not great, especially for the price. We estimated that it was about four times costlier than a typical local nice restaurant meal. It would be maybe worth twice as much, but not four times as costly. Would go back, but only for very special occasion. View from second floor window seating was very nice at sunset.

Nicest place to eat in East Honolulu. Busy restaurants so reservations are a must. Have to try the chocolate lava cake.

Roy's never disappoints...great food, great service every single time. And it's nice that the manager always comes around and thanks us for coming in. I would eat here 7 days a week if I could!

Over the decades I have dined at Roy's Hawaii Kai, it has always delivered outstanding food and service. The consistency and reliability makes it an easy choice when entertaining clients, friend and family.

Arrived ontime for our reservation, took 10 minutes to get us a table upstairs, saw 7 other tables empty when we arrived upstairs, all 4-tops. What took them so long. Seat me, I'll order a drink and wait an hour if I have to, but at least seat me!
