3.5 This place is right next to Don Quijote. I know there's a lot of food on the menu, but I come here only for the MANAPUA. They are perfect for a snack or even for an on the go meal. YUM!!! I usually buy a box or two to share.

U-Choice In is the place to go for a quick bite of Chinese food. There are many options available such as bbq pork, roast duck and a variety of dim sum. The roast pork skin is crispy and not too fatty. I love their chow fun and they even have porridge with the Chinese donut to go with it. I wish they can declutter the boxes stuffed in the dining room to give more space for eat in customers other than that no complaint about their food.

This review is strictly based on my single visit for char siu manapuas. I had a hankering for a good manapua and found this gem by Don Quixote. I tried both the steamed and baked char siu manapua and they were both lovely. Between the two, I thought the steamed manapua was much more enjoyable. I will say there wasn't a lot of filling, but I was satisfied. Also, the char siu was a bit sweeter than I would've preferred. Still, a solid option for manapua and char siu fans. Fairly priced. The real star of this local business was the woman who helped me inside. I regret not having gotten her name but she was sweet and kind. She helped me navigate through my choices and was very patient.

Service: not very friendly Food: came across this place looking for good steamed manapua. 1. Bun to meat ratio .. satisfactory ( for me it's still too much bun ... but my husband feels it's a good ratio) 2. Bun softness: come early ... by the evening the buns tend to be not as soft as the ones you get earlier in the day 3. Bun sweetness: it's okay Ambiance: well I vote for just grab and go

Ordered 4 dim sum baskets for $26.00, and it wasnt the best or even close to what I expected. Small pieces for shrimp dumpling at $5.50, and taste isnt good either. Do not waste your time here for hong Kong dimsum. Go other places for dim sum. The quality and price at this place have not been good. This would be my last place to eat for some Chinese comfort food.

Favorite place to get manapua nowadays. I guess I never knew about this place growing up because it's located in town near the Don Quixote which I've never had to go to back in the day. I've only discovered this place within the last 5 yrs or so because we stay in Waikiki and it's just a 15- 20 min walk from whatever hotel we stay at. The manapua is so soft and steamy when we purchase it. We also get the Jin dui which comes in 3 flavors, char siu, black bean and coconut. I think the black bean is most popular. I've only been able to get it if I've gone earlier in the day. Sometimes the coconut or char siu are the only ones left, which are my favorite. These Jin dui are big too, not like the tiny ones you get in Chinese restaurants. I've also had some of the pastries filled with curry or char siu, those re some.of.my favorites as well. So flaky. They offer other dimsum, and plate lunches too. Workers are very fast and efficient. Especially when there is a line in the morning. You'd better know what you want when you get up there. It's pretty much all takeout because there is no seating indoors, but you can eat at the tables outside where all other diners go. First time I've ever gotten a box of manapua and looks like it will pack well for a plane ride home.

Today was a slow day at U Choice In. There was only one person in the place when I entered and he had already placed his order. I couldn't find anyone to take my order for a few minutes. I saw a sign to ring the bell for service, but lol there was no bell. After looking for someone, I saw a lady and she asked me what I wanted. It was clear that English was not her first language. So I switched to my Chinese American terrible attempt to request dim sum. Somewhat successful because everything else I just pointed to it. I picked up a steamed Manapua for my Dad. He loved it. The char siu steamed Manapua is rated 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. I was surprised that they sold palmiers! I asked if they made it locally. She answered in the affirmative. I tried one and it was good but not as flaky and buttery as I like them. I would rate the palmiers at 3 stars out of 5 stars.

Best damn dim sum I had in YEARs! Black sugar cakes. Mushroom chicken cake noodle. Pork hash. 2 different kinds The crunchy shrimp dumpling thing. I feel like they would make so much more money in Kapolei - we are missing an authentic Chinese place on this side of the island. Please start looking for a location to set up business near Kapolei but closer to Makakilo - IMMEDIATELY. Thanks

Ate fried rice with 1 choice for $9.37 tax included at U Choice In restaurant at the Don Quijote on Kaheka St. It is an easy choice when I am not in the mood for anything much. They give good amount so it is filling and it is very convenient.

I live on Maui and whenever i'm on Oahu, manapua is one of the items I take home. I prefer the baked manapua, although I get both steamed and baked. The pork hash is very big with a good amount of pork. Lots of different items to choose from.

From here I would only come back for that duck plate with choy sum over rice because it was quick, cheap, and delicious. The duck was juicy, fatty and delicious. If you like leaner duck with crispy skin, this might not be for you then sorry. But it was super flavorful and I would come back get for a good quick bite of this! The only other thing my boyfriend and I would come back for is their Gau gee, which wasn't different from other ones but hey Gau gee is Gau gee. Fish ball noodles soup, broth was super light and not plain but just like simple. If you're having stomach issues and need something soupy with protein, you might like this. My boyfriend said he couldn't taste anything, it's so subtle. Wouldn't get it again but wasn't mad about it. Sorry but absolutely wouldn't get the pork hash or that super dry meat manapua again. I think the pork hash was old or maybe made in a way I've never tried before but wow just personally never again thank you. So to sum it up: I could only recommend the duck plate and the gau gee for tasty cheap eats from here.
