This place was so much fun! Happy to find a line dancing bar on base! It was my first time there and heard they closed for a while and made a lot of improvements. I could tell cause everything was so clean, up to date and the floor was huge! Music was great and cant wait to go back again!

I've had such a love-hate relationship with the country bar over the years, but I just keep going back! It's gone through so many changes in the almost 10 years that I've been dancing there, but it really is the best place to do country dancing on the island. The dance floor is in a huge circle around the DJ booth. (What's up to my girl, DJ Kate!) For two-stepping, waltzing, and cha-chas, people move around the floor in a circularish pattern. It doesn't matter if you are a novice or a fancy-pants boot stomper: everyone is welcome. For the line dances, people will usually head to one side of the circle or the other to do "their version" of a dance. (For example, an older group of dancers usually does a low-impact line dance while the youngins get some serious cardio in.) There's a "power" session around 11 where the regulars get on the floor and the official Power Hour at midnight where the floor is packed for everyone's favorite dances, including the Wobble and Macarena. The bartenders can be found on opposite ends of the bar. On some nights it can only take a moment to get a drink. During RIMPAC, good luck if you can even see the bar. The drink prices are fairly reasonable, especially for domestic beer. If you're looking to drink and dance, the country bar is the place to do it. If you want to be able to do more, I'd recommend Whiskey Dix instead. The crowd at the country bar is mostly young (18+), so don't be surprised to find some baby-faced military members asking for a dance.

I absolutely love going here on a Friday or Saturday. My girl friend introduced me to this place (she's been on island 3 years and I just got here). Had a blast for girls night out. We did get hit on quite a bit but no one was butt hurt when they got denied. As a newbie, there are plenty of people there to help teach you how to do the line dances, they are still quite a few I have to learn but there are some, I don't even attempt. Power hours starts at midnight. I've been going about a month now, and I've never seen a fight break out. The drinks are cheap and strong. And the bartenders definitely remember you from week to week. Security is amazing (military ID or sponsor required to enter). I've had no fear leaving my wallet or phone on the table to go dance. There are plenty of easy line dances to learn. Even as a newbie. I picked most of them up relatively quickly. Now that I've found this place, we make it an every weekend thing. No need to dress to the 9s unless you want to. I've seen jeans, shorts, dresses, boots, heels, slippers and tennis shoes. Wear whatever is comfortable, especially if you intend to dance a ton.

The ONLY thing I take 1 star off for is the speaker system on the right side is so blasted out that it's painful to listen to. So sit on the left side ;-) I absolutely loved coming here with my husband and friends. The dance floor is nice, the floor, bar, and tables are clean, and the variety of music is fun. We are pretty intermediate dancers and they do a great mix of line and partner dances. I personally find the female DJ to be nicer, more accommodating, and friendly than the male DJ, but they both get the job done. You can expect to do the Montgomery Cha-Cha a few times, so if you want to prepare yourself here is a link: - but you do it in a circle instead of a 4-wall dance like they do in the video. You can do it alone or with a partner. 11:00 is power hour and you can expect to hear "Friends in Low Places," "Copperhead Road," and "Cotton-eyed Joe," as well as a few others. Copperhead Road is the big F*CK the Army! song, so you'll probably really love this if you're affiliated with any other branch ;-) It's a super easy dance to pick up. ( American Kids is another really popular one that's done almost every night that is fun: Once midnight comes, you'll hear the cha-cha slide, electric slide, cupid's shuffle, etc., and more of a hip-hop vibe. You get all kinds of dancers, people, and genres here. It's super fun! It might be because I'm fat, but I can't say I'm super fond of the chairs LOL They can be a little uncomfortable and wobbly. This is NOT a pick up bar. There are tons of single people there, sure, but I've never been disrespectfully approached. I have been hit on with my husband there and without him there and have never been treated poorly when I reject a come on. I've seen plenty of ladies turn down come-ons and have never seen an issue. I've never seen a fight break out here. People in general stay in their groups but are friendly. Once in a while you get some idiot who is using their partner as a battering ram during a partner dance and pummels her into everyone... but you just feel bad for her and go about your night ;-) Can't beat free, and I sure do miss coming here on the weekends!

Came here for the first time with some of my military friends since they're country and love to line dance. (Local, hispanic here so I was definitely out of my element). But I gave it a shot and enjoyed myself. The atmosphere is great, the guys are very sweet & have manners & will teach you to line dance if you don't know how. The staff is really friendly and drinks are a lot cheaper than nightclubs in Waikiki. Been going to country bar every weekend since my first time because it's just a great place to dance and have fun without having to worry about your safety or anything. I love two stepping & definitely appreciate the "hip hop" songs once 12am comes around.

Never thought I'd be visiting a country bar and all its Honky-Tonk glory but alas we ended up here. We were having double date night and shooting pool when we decided to head over here for more drinks. My bf and his friend wasn't as excited as we were, they've gone before and hated it. What a lively little place. I was already wasted btw, so everything seemed extremely amusing to me. I tried to drag my other half on the floor with me to which I kept getting denied. Very well, bc I probably would have gotten nauseous going around in a big circle with other random people. I think drinks were cheap, Henny and coke was $6.50 where as I know I've paid $10 at Mai Tais in Ala Moana. The staff was friendly. I remember seeing a lot of guys tryna pick up chicks and LMAO when they got shutdown. IDK, I would love to go back and people watch.

I don't even like country, but managed to have a pretty good time here. I went with military guys, and I definitely felt like the oddball because I dress pretty wild and super sexy when I go out, and most people were dressed conservatively. However, people still talked to me, weren't being jerks to me. People had manners, and that says a lot about a place to me. I loved watching the line dancing and all the dancers being in like a huge dance pit in the middle. That was entertaining and since I'm a dancer of several styles myself, I was inspired and intrigued. I still ended up leaving a little early and going to a club that fit my style more, but I won't forget my unique experience coming to this place.
If you're looking for a place to meet people to cheat on your spouse with, look no further. My husband met lots of women here, and most of them were married too. I've also heard that if you're looking for some chlamydia, you can most likely find that too. Home wrecking and wife swapping and good ol fashion cheating galore!

Love this little country bar! I have never been to one before this one so I was very leary at first. But after a few dances and drinks I was good. Drinks are reasonably priced and if you don't know some of the dances people around you usually help you. It does get crowded at times but it's a bar on base what do you expect. I would recommend to anyone to give it a try :)

Fun lil country bar located on Pearl Harbor. Good dance floor and great music! They even spin some old school country. Only negative is damn, it takes forever to get a drink there....I mean it is a bar and we had to buy 4 beers for 2 people at one time to avoid waiting!!!! But it def was a good time if you like to dance!

This is my favorite bar. Found it on accident awhile back and I'm there every weekend I have! I love dancing, and I'd much rather learn the line dances or 2 step than grind over and over while random dudes creep in a generic rap bar. They play mostly country, new and old, as well as the occasional hip hop track (like three or four max) and if you are new there is always someone who will teach you some sweet moves. Mostly it's a younger crowd, lots of military, and you don't have to be or dress Southern to have fun! Bar isn't that crowded, there's a line at both ends which some people never notice but somehow the "rednecks with low IQ" (to quote a previous hater) figure it out just fine and don't have to wait that long. Dress code is relaxed, drinks are cheap, people are awesome and fun. Yay!

Being from the Mid-West/Southern Missouri (originally) I was very intrigued to go to a country bar in Hawaii. I was pleasantly surprised. Drinks were cheap. They have the normal "country beers" PBR, Bud Light and all of those. They have Sloe Gin. I didn't expect to find that here. The music was great. Definitely a good mix of songs. The atmosphere was clean and not over crowded. I don't line dance. I grew up knowing how to do some dances (we were forced to in junior high), but I just don't. I still had a blast watching those that could (and those that couldn't dance.) Definitely get out and try it. Being a bar on base it is no smoking inside bonus!! I hate smelling like smoke. There is a huge 1 to 10 ratio girls to guys. I'm sure girls love this place. Even with that type of ratio the guys were still having fun with their guy friends. Drinking shots, tipping back some brew and listening to music. (and probably making fun of that one girl that her shorts were definitely eaten by her fat rolls... OMG people! Just because they make it in your size does NOT mean you should wear it.) I can definitely see me coming back to this bar. Really reminds me of the bars I grew up going to. As everyone else has stated- No cover. You just need your military ID to get in. And remember don't drink and drive. Call a Cab if need be! There are usually cabs outside.
