Definitely has the vibe of a dank dive bar. When you go in, the tables are long banquet style tables and the bar is in the style of a sunken bar so they can have lounge chairs at the bar. If you go and think to yourself that you made a mistake, I urge you to sit down, have a drink and see if you still feel the same. This place is always really fun as I was working on the cruise ship. We would always go there on Sunday nights to go enjoy some time off the ship. It would get very busy sometimes, but the service was always on point. I really like the people that work there and I feel like everyone that I worked with also did and that’s where that place is always so busy, you could keep your top open or close it or pay cash. The managers and staff of Hang Loose lounge are just fantastic people. They are island friendly and go out of their way to help you. Rod even drove us personally from the lounge when we could not get a taxi to swing by. You can see why the locals frequent and hugs flow. Check it out. Maui is wide open for business folks. The fires certainly affected certain specific locals but 90% of the island was fine.
