The freshness of the fish was questionable. Tuna was greyish, we didn't eat the salmon. Maybe it was an off night but was hoping (and paid) for better.

Cool little sushi joint in the food truck park

Delicious food at the food truck that was kid approved. My daughter inhaled the Samari roll and my son had two rounds (his request) of the gyoza.

I believed the reviews and should not have. Traveled from Seattle and was thinking I could grab some quick good sushi, this is not sushi. Took three bites and went somewhere else. Wasted $30 of precious travel money. Lots of food trucks in the vicinity, maybe go for something else. Rice was not sticky, bland, and had too much on the roll. For someone trying sushi for the first time or for a child this could be a way to ease into it. I hate leaving bad reviews because I feel bad for the owner trying to make it on the island. However, for your vacation, taste buds, and stomach it's a no-go.

Very disappointed. Low quality with typical pricing if you were at a nice sushi restaurant. I spent $50 on 3 rolls all of which were less quality than grocery store sushi. Wasabi was dry and hard, the lemons on the sunset roll were not thinly sliced like a good roll would have...shrip was dry and chewy, it was just all a bad experience.

Love the idea of a food truck offering sushi and Japanese food, one of my favorites foods to eat. Unfortunately, this place fell short in my opinion. And it really pains me to give a poor review, especially during these times. They have a fun cool looking truck located right across of Costco in Kahului. And there menu is vibrant with pictures of the food they offer. I was quickly greeted and received quick and acquitted customer service. I settled on the Dragon roll and Caterpillar Roll, which arrived looking exactly as pictured which they make fresh to order. Sadly, the the first thing I noticed when I took the first bite was the mushy rice. And anyone who eats sushi knows that makes a huge difference. And it was mushy for both of my rolls. Which at $18 a roll, was a bummer. There was also, a different taste in the sauce for the Dragon roll that I didn't care for, and I couldn't pin point what it was. This truck has many great reviews, so maybe it was just an off day.

What a great way to immerse yourself in Maui's food scene by grabbing lunch at the food trucks located across from the Costco. Very happy that Sushi Kochi was my first meal here. Hoping to eat here again!

Hooray for another Japanese food option on Maui! This one serving probably 50% sushi, which I don't think I've seen anyone do besides just having 1 or 2 rolls on their menu. Located on the food truck lot across Costco. We tried the unagi donburi & gyoza. The donburi is served with an avocado salad. Unagi was well seasoned with a tasty sauce. The gyoza was nice & crispy & served with a sweeter sauce. Filling was good & pretty generous. Pricing was reasonable. There was a bit of a wait, which is understandable for this type of food, so plan accordingly. Definitely need to come back & try the sushi!

My family wanted poke for our last night in Maui and we were lucky to find this food truck. The poke was fresh and seasoned well! This was definitely fresher and tastier than poke I can find back home, but didn't taste as fresh as other poke we tried in Maui. Regardless, it was still good and the salad and avocado were great complements to this meal!
