Great breakfast once again on our last day at the Kona Royal Resort. Service was fast. Food was delicious and nicely proportioned. Nothing beats sitting next to the ocean with a fresh cup of coffee and good eats. My son had the French toast. 2 thumbs up. I had the açaí bowl. Delicious. Side of bacon was generous. No complaints except we had to leave.

We come to Kona a couple times a year for some peace and quiet. Each time we land there is always a little time before we can check into our AirBnB so we've made a ritual of heading here to sit, drink a Mai Tai, each some appetizers and just stare at the ocean in peace and quiet. The staff every time is awesome, they check on you just enough to make sure you're well taken care of but stay away enough to let you enjoy the peace the ocean brings. Insane views as the bar basically sits on a cliff over looking the ocean with completely open walls.

The drinks are a bit expensive but the service and food is good. The poke nachos and kids menu are all good.

Had to come to try the mai tai. It was ok, and tasted just like the others we've had in Kona. Nothing special about this one. Also tried an order of the grilled ahi tacos. The ahi, while probably fresh, was a bit overcooked / dry, but still had decent flavor. With so many options in Kona, not sure if we'd make a special trip back.

We had breakfast overlooking the ocean and our meal was wonderful! Eggs, ham, fruit and toast! I even ordered a Bloody Mary! The service was wonderful and the ocean breeze made for a very enjoyable meal.

The poke nachos were really good! The wonton chips seem to be a thing here and they are a nice change. The calamari looked like it should be really tender and moist but I found it chewy. The wasabi cocktail sauce was a nice twist. The lemon tartar sauce, meh. We were here for happy hour and by a happy accident a semi famous Hawaiian singer was playing. The music was original and enjoyable and not too loud in the bar. There was a VIP area that looked to be loud. We got there right at 4pm and the bar was full. My husband checked on a table but there was a wait for that too. I found one empty bar stool and we camped there for almost an hour until the couple next to us, whom we had befriended, finished and bequeathed us one of their stools. This would have been fine but a fellow patron tried to muscle her way in our the claim, and I knew she had not been there as long as we had. The nerve of some people. Anyway my newfound friend had our backs and we settled in for some great music, Mai Tais and food. This really is probably the best and most consistent happy hour on Ali'i, but the place is always busy. Our friends said they arrived at 3:40pm to get some of the last stools. The other thing about this bar is that it faces the ocean. A lot of them don't, and you have to sit sideways if you want to see the water or watch for whales. They claim the best sunset on the island and it would be hard to argue, at least on this side. The sunsets from Brown's and the Canoe House are pretty awesome too, but they aren't in town.

Maybe it's annoying... Maybe it's because I'm Asian... It's so unfriendly...The atmosphere is okay during sunset. The reason there are 2 services is because some of the staff were really friendly... the 2 people at the desk were really bad.Tell me about the taste..ㅠ

The Bahn Mi Pho Dip is really good, and not something I’ve seen before. The sweet potato fries are good, and come with a ginger dipping sauce that was unexpectedly complementary, enhancing the fries. The ocean view is excellent, and while we were there after sunset, I expect it would be a nice place to enjoy a sunset.Unknown to me, they’ll validate 3 hours of parking across the street. Good for me to know next time.

Service here was the first thing that kind of gave me a bad taste. The hostess and our waitress both had terrible attitudes. We arrived for happy hour which is from 4-6pm and had to wait about 30 mins on a Saturday arriving there at 5pm. We got arguably the best view in the house and the patio has great vibes as you can listen to the waves crashing while sipping your drink! We opted for the coconut shrimp which was very subpar, definitely not cooked enough as the batter was falling off? Or it had been sitting for a while. My friend really enjoyed her poke nachos! They were absolutely delicious she said and filling. star of the show was the "lava flow" or pina colada which you can add a flavor to for a dollar!

I can’t comment on the food part because we only got drinks here during our stay. The bad part of our experience was the service. The waitress Lacy seemed least interested to serve us and when asked about the free Mai tai you receive per room she was pretty rude to explain how it works and immediately turned her back on us. I was on big island for 8 days and probably had ~20 meals at different restaurants. This by far was the worst experience we had with this waitress. The atmosphere is really good in the restaurant + the sunset view. Drinks are also good !

Great spot for sunset, drinks and bites. Appreciate the inventive drink menu that offers a variety of flight options from Mai Tai's to rum tasters.Parking: Restaurant will validate your parking voucher to avoid fees.

Great location, however the service isn’t good. It takes forever for the server to come to your table and then even longer to get what you ordered.

View is 5 stars. The bar was understaffed. The place could use a better "we will call your name" system, either text or buzzer, if they let you get drinks at bar while you are waiting.
