Amazing restaurant right on the water. The service was great, the appetizer (crab cakes) delicious, main courses were some of the best I had on Kona (a special fish trio and a trio of shrimp), and desserts were healthy portions that were presented on a tray for the choosing. This is a must stop for dinner if you are in Kona.

We were here 13 years ago and it did not disappoint. Great food, excellent staff and we had the pleasure of talking with one of the owners Sabu Shake Jr. He was warm and welcoming. This place is packed from early morning to late night. Location is awesome with great views on the main street of Ali'i Drive.

Great food and service with beautiful view in historic Kailua-Kona. Food is excellent and the fish is always done to perfection. Book ahead if you want a window seat but planning ahead is worth it!

This is a cafeteria trying to be a fine dining restaurant. Might be ok for the breakfast special or soup/ sandwich during the day, but charging $40-60 for dinner entrees and delivering cafeteria quality food should be a crime. Service matched the poor quality. Our server took our order and brought our bill, never saw her otherwise with busboy bringing us our food. Complained about the poor food quality, manager said he tried to and it tasted normal to him. Again, if you want to spend $50+ for entree, any place is a better choice.

We decided to go for brunch before our flight back to Seattle. It was the right decision. Great views, friendly service and good food. The price was fair and we walked away vowing to return

We used to love the Fish Hopper. It has really gone downhill. Host staff is not pleasant and should learn some customer service. We were rushed through dinner even though the restaurant was almost empty at 6pm. Food has tanked as well. I paid $12.95 for a starter Cesar salad that was romaine core, dry croutons and a shake of cheese. You can't ask for assistance from your wait staff as they disappear as soon as you order never to be seen again until they bring the check. We will not be back.

My wife and I had both a deliscious breakfast and wonderful dinner at the fish hopper. All tables have a great view of the ocean. Food is excellent with a definite Hawaiian vibe. Highly recommend

Absolutely love the crab avocado omelet. If you want a nice table next to the window, make a reservation and skip the line. Food always good. Like everywhere else, prices have gone up in recent years. Tobi is a great waitperson, very nice!

Joshua and the chef were extremely forthcoming and made a calamari burger happen! Everything else was very good: the poke for starters, the yellow fin, and the risotto. The icing on the cake was the cheesecake!

Food was great! Server was amazing! But we could tell the hostesses were wishing we would hurry up and leave, so they can sit other people. That kinda killed the rating. They didn't even say thank you when we passed them to exit.

We scored a primo table, enjoyed great food and were able to have our server slow down the pace of food arrival. All in, a great experience! Curious as to why no Open Table points available with this reservation.

Lovely location and friendly staff. Clean and the food and drink was good. You get big helpings so come hungry?. Main course came before we finished our starters. We eat when it was dark out but I think it would be great during sun set.

My wife and I travel to the Big Island annually and always go to the Fish Hopper more than once each trip. This trip the Mahi Mahi was not up to previous visits. The fish was overcooked and we were not sure it was the fish we ordered. Hopefully this was a one off as we've always enjoyed the seafood at the Fish Hopper.

The food was amazing. I had the mahi-mahi with shrimp. Would definitely order again. My wife had the polo nachos. Was very good too. Now we can say that we have eaten at all three locations. A++

Full of elderly people, seems like a diner atmosphere, food was good but very expensive No sunset views from front deck Get'em in Get'em out feel ! Turnover $ was important
