Wow! We expected the food to be good, but it was fantastic! We had upside down dim sum, steamed vegetables, sushi roll of the day, grilled fish of the day, green salad, flourless chocolate cake, bananas foster. As we completed devouring each item, we kept thinking that the next dishes that were coming couldn't possibly be as good. But they were! I mean how do you make steamed vegetables be amazing? All I can say is, they were amazing!

Enjoyed our meal there , we both had Kapachi which is a very tasty fish grown here on the island ! The only thing we thought they were a little skimpy on the asparagus ! Would have been nice to have more than two! Shrimp appetizer was good as well as the dessert! Waitress was very good and attentive! Drinks good!

Great experience all around. Got us in right away with a reservation, which I highly recommend. The blue fun toro was out of this world. Service was top notch. You won't be disappointed!!

We had an amazing experience here on our last night in Kona! The sushi was so fresh, the service was on point (thanks Maverick!). If you are looking for great sushi with a Hawaiian flavor you cannot go wrong! Will be back one day!

Over it wasn't as good as last year. Celebrated the wife's birthday and the waiter forgot so when dessert was delivered she was disappointed with the appearance of her choice - Absent was her Birthday Wishes!

Unclear why it's rated so well. The food was meh. The drinks were meh. Pricing was ok. Service mad and error with taking our order which was fine but if anything, while being at 70% capacity, they were frantic and had long waits, unsure if they'd be able to seat us at our reservation time. Just overall meh.

Dining here was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. The food was scrumptious! We started with the poke salad and Hawaiian rolls which were superior in both taste and freshness. First time trying ? with ?, it really works. For the main course, hubby had the ono tataki, which was just perfect. I had the special of the day which was kanpachi with foie gras sauce and mashed potatoes. It was spot on, really loved it! We will surely return next time we're on the Big Island ?

Ordered the Risotto with shrimp and the dish arrived with all of three small shrimp in it for 39.00. I find this unacceptable for the price. I did tell the server who said she would pass along the feedback to the kitchen but in case she didn't or they don't care, I would order something else.

Appetizer: steamed vegetables. I'm a veggie person and so appreciated these! Main: seafood trio was excellent -- 2 large shrimp, 3 plump large scallops, some marinated calamari strips... all perfectly prepared.

We loved being back again last week so we came again! Even better this time! Kyle our server was wonderful and so attentive... we had the kanpachi special and the chefs sushi roll... incredible! And the manager was so kind to us... she remembered us and welcomed us back!

As usual the restaurant and staff were wonderful! From the welcoming manager/host to our great waitress, everything was perfect... from the sushi rolls to the lamb chops to the ono, it was all delicious.. and the setting is still very cool and subdued.. we'll be back before we leave Kona!

The food was very good. The yuzu saikyo miso salmon was amazing. The upside down dim sum was reminiscent of an open face pot sticker. There was a slight sweetness that I didn't appreciate but the dipping sauce was delicious. Overall we enjoyed our visit.

The food was great and innovative. The service was lacking for the price of the food. I ordered a seltzer water. It came after the appetizers and midway through my main course and with the bill after desert. I understand finding wait-staff is difficult, but not sure they did much training. Lastly, we were seated outside on the covered patio without asking. Out table was along a walkway in the complex. All-in-all, the food was the star.

Service was slow and non attentive. Had to go back to the bar to get our own drinks. Had ask repeatedly for items for the table. Server was new which is understandable, but did not seem to be well trained. It was an anomaly I think as our service in the past has been very good. It was not busy and yet they were short staffed. Will elect to eat the bar next time as the bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Came here last Spring and loved it. Looked forward to coming this trip and the food was just as delicious as I remembered it from last year. This was not the case for another restaurant we went back to, so I am grateful the Kenichi Pacific is still doing a fantastic job in service, food and ambience.
