Awful. Came and sat down amd nobody in sight. Wait for about 5 minutes and someone walks over and says sorry we are having a trivia night you can't sit here but what are you here for? Hello you are a restaurant and bar aom pretty sure that's an easy answer. Won't be back. Went next door to oceans

We were a party of 4. The waitress was very sweet. However, my friend ordered nachos that were burnt, another friend ordered fish and chips that tasted like they were cooked in old oil and not fried at correct temp. Another friend ordered a burger, and onion rings. The burger was OK, but the onion rings cooked in old oil and again, the temp of oil was to low, which caused them to be soggy and not crisp.

It's bar food maybe one notch higher. Decent cocktails and beer, but ran out of our first tap choice. There during the Superbowl and the waitstaff and kitchen kept up. I wish the power lines didn't obstruct the ocean view.

My friend and I went to this place people were very happy dancing to live music, and some people playing in pools. We order pious and cocktails. I ordered buffalo wings the taste wasn't that good. But the service was good.

We stopped by for a Mai Tai cocktail and fresh fish. Their sashimi is flavorful and spiced right, with a spice rub on the outside. Laverne's offers a chill, bar vibe with dining area that looks over the water. The service was quick but chill, with a very nice waitress. It would be extra special to go at sunset.
My husband and I honeymooned on the Big Island. We walked about 30 minutes from our air bnb to downtown Kailua-Kona on the search for live music and heard a band from Laverne's..we had to check it out. It let to us going there for live music 3 nights in a row and having the BEST time.

The service is very slow and staff not very friendly. We came here twice, first time there was only one person doing bartending, taking orders, etc. She came and told us and the table next to us that she was only taking drink orders, my husband wasn't even finished telling her what he wanted when she turned away. Later she apologized. We came again the next day, this time two people working, when finally the waiter came to take our order he took more than 15-20 min to bring our drinks, while we saw him busy bussing tables he could have easily bring the drinks then bus tables there was nobody waiting to be seated. Finally food and drinks came, not even once did he come to check if we needed anything else or another drink. We saw another couple that keep waiting for someone to help them, the guy has to stand up to ask for service, and what was the waiter doing? Bussing tables. While I understand they were short staff which tells you how poorly this business is run, still customer service needs to improve. Does not worth the time, go next door to Humpy's, better vibe better service

Don't waste a single moment of your vaca coming to this place...unless you want to hear an apology from the staff how under-staffed they are...the poor woman behind the bar is well-intended, just needs to get a job next door at Humpy's....youve been warned! It earned a zero!
