It's voluminous and meaty! !The sauce had a gentler taste than it looked, and felt thick and thin.Kid-friendliness: There is a high chair.

Sooo good! And appropriately priced compared to everywhere else I've been in Hawaii so far. We went back twice, and would return again.

We had never been here until the day we flew in from the mainland. The Budget Rent A Car agent recommended it as a popular casual dining spot, with good food for hungry travelers. Its a good thing we listened to him. The food (cheeseburgers, fries, spicy Asian chicken and garden salad) was tasty and filling. The people behind the counter were friendly, helpful and efficient and the restaurant was clean.

Good and varied selection of basic foods, that range from soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, fries, fish and seafood, chicken, pork, beef, served cafe style. Eat in or to go. If you cant find at least something on the menu, you're not looking hard enough. Great for families, with patience! Lot's of "regulars" (i.e., repeat customers). Issues (for me as customer and, hence, only 3*) are long lines (worse during meal times), slow service and really long food preparation times (i.e., time from placing order to getting order).

Pine Tree Cafe was recommended to us by an employee at Budget Rent A Car when we first arrived on the big island. He said the food was good and the menu option were plentiful. He was correct on both counts. We had cheeseburgers and fries on the first day, then the Spicy Garlic Chicken with garden salads the next day. The burgers were large and juicy. The fries were golden and crispy. The chicken was tasty and not too spicy with a nice crispy fried coating. The salads were large and fresh. They make the food when you order it so you may have a little bit of a wait ahead of you. Will definitely be going back the next time we are hungry and in the area.

No fuss cafeteria-style place.Put an order and they’ll call your name up. A little bit of a wait for food but pretty dang good. Korean fried chicken was excellent. Loco Moco was good but nothing special.Good quick stop before your flight.Parking: Small plaza, high turnoverWheelchair accessibility: No stairs or steps

Best casual spot in Kona hands down. Whether you’re getting local plate lunch or burgers n fries…… it’s all really good. Their special handmade burger with cream cheese and bacon might be the best burger on the island (definitely not the healthiest). I call in my order nearly every time. Usually takes 15-20 minutes or so. They have a decent amount of employees running a well oiled machine. Very popular amongst both locals and tourists.

Eager to try some Loco Moco on the Big Island, I decided to give this place a shot. They offered a variety of options, but my heart was on Loco Moco. Opted for the large size, and I was pleasantly surprised- they're generous with their portions, especially for takeout. The establishment was not only clean but also spacious, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The staff proved to be very helpful. Despite the quick wait for my food, I can imagine on a busy day it might take a bit longer, but their efficiency is commendable. The Loco Moco was delicious, and I couldn't finish it one sitting. Even later for dinner, it retained its great taste. A fantastic spot to indulge in Loco Moco or other varieties, and conveniently close to the airport.

We ate here on February 26, 2024. It's a convenient location near the airport and across the street from an Ohana gas station. So if you are driving a distance to get the airport, return your rental car and want to get some hot food before your flight, its a good place to stop. I gave it three stars because the food was just ok, and the side of macaroni salad, at $4.95 was indelible. If it wasn't due to being very hungry and my son eating just a few bites before I tried it, I would have asked for my money back. My son had a tempura shrimp bowl for $10.00, I had the salmon plate with rice and a salad for $19.00. I tipped 10%, but lesson learned, I will only tip after I get my food and have eaten it to my satisfaction. Good in a pinch and I will be all the wiser next time

Good food! This is our weekend go to for a quick bite to eat close to home! Lots of choices, spicy garlic chicken is one of our favorites!

We stopped in for a late lunch; place was quite busy. Wanting to try different things, we ordered a Caesar salad and spicy chicken. After an extensive wait, we got our meal. The salad was completely bland, generic grocery store greens with no crunch or freshness, bottled dressing. The chicken was so over cooked we couldn’t chew it or even cut it with a knife. We threw it all in the trash and left.Advise- stick with a burger or fish sandwich. They apparently know how to do that.
