Great Potoo

Egghead cafe has great coffee and breakfast dishes. My favorites are the vanilla bean ice blended coffee and pork belly bowl. If you ever wanted to try a Dutch baby, nows your chance. They offer plain, fruity or savory dutch baby options. Dining in is back, and they offer free wifi. The service is friendly, the ambience is chill, and there's a good amount of seating. Parking is metered, same parking lot as cinnamons.

After a leg crushing workout at Koko Crater, filling up at Egghead was a very good decision.Their acai bowl is nice and thick with plenty of fruits and granola! Definitely filled me up!Coffee is top notch (if I say so myself).Wonderful staff who helped me a ton with parking (gave me change for the meter)!Thank you all so much!

Ask for a tip and don't even wait on you. Great food with a decent price all round besides the bacon. Great drinks too. Would come again if I was in the area.

Easy parking in meter lot. Ample seating available, loud acoustics with cement floors At a casual 7a opening, only one barista at the bar. 20 min wait for breakfast sandwich; trade off of made to order Does not take AMEX. Friendly staff, if you are in a rush- drive around corner to the chain coffee shop. Tough location to succeed, good vibe and good luck.

You found it! A cafe that brings quality and amazing service! Walking in I was greeted by lise who welcomed me and my friends. She helped guide us through their menu seeing it was our first time ordering. Upon request I asked for a good drink and she recommended a blended matcha, and it did not disappoint. If your going to get anything get the blended matcha!! I'll definitely be back and make this apart of my weekly habit.

One of our last stops before we left the island, and I’m glad we made the time for it! I usually couldn’t care less about waffles or sweet breakfast, but these waffles were fiiiiiire.

Sandwiches were pretty good. The breakfast bowls were meh, would not recommend them. It took 40 mins for our order though, there was no one waiting in front of us, only a few orders that were ordered ahead of time. We also asked to wrap our sandwiches in tinfoil so we could put them in our backpacks but we over heard the kitchen saying “that will take to long to do”, which left a bad taste for us. We asked for tinfoil to do it ourselves and it literally took less then a minute to wrap all three sandwiches…guess they didn’t want us to wait 41mins instead of the 40mins…

Lilikoi B.L.T.E. Definitely lacking it's usual insides. This sandwich is usually bursting out the seams with goodness. This time they made it as if they didn't have enough product. I'm so disappointed. Usually, you need two hands to hold this. As you can tell, not today.

Walked in asking for quarters. It was my dad's retirement that day and I was going to buy the whole office and my family coffee as my sister bought doughnuts. It was going to be a big order. Two dozen drinks. It was also my first experience in the shop. Laments of Kailua abound. Cry-Lua Sadly went to Star b's instead. The young lady that was "helping" 4/1/22 at 730ish me treated me like actual trash. Good luck with that!

We had just finished a hike near by and I was looking for breakfast food... it was a gamble because we were just looking for anything last minute. I am so so happy we came across this spot because it is a gem!!! I got their coffee and their sausage plate and it was SO GOOD. If I lived here I would come here every day. You have your choice in the style of eggs and the sausage was so juicy and delicious. We took it to the beach nearby to eat and it was my best morning on the island. Thank you egghead!!

I have now been here twice and everything we have ordered was really really good and the staff was very nice and friendly. The blended mocha is one of the best I have ever had!!!

It was my first time here. I didn’t realize it was only to-go/takeaway, so that was a bummer. I ordered the honey matcha with oat milk, and I made the mistake of not asking for half honey. It’s very sweet and overbearing … I couldn’t even taste the matcha, which was disappointing. My friend got the cold brew which was alright… a little light, low acidity. And also the avocado toast, which was pretty standard. He wanted something else but they were sold out of a lot. Overall, I’d come if you were nearby but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Two things to note: Pork belly bowl and the mochi waffle. Seriously, if you're not ordering these two items when you're at Egghead Café, why are you even showing up (my apologies to meat free people)? I see some of these low reviews not ordering these two items and my inner Indiana Jones goes, "they chose... poorly." At least your face won't melt off though with any of the food or drinks at Egghead. Seriously though, the pork belly bowl is delicious. With extremely tasty, tender and just fatty enough pork belly, with an egg of your choice, over rice with pickled veggies; it's a one of the best, if not the best thing on their menu. Should you even be allowed to write a review without trying that first? Well.....maybe. Go with the sunny side up to get that runny egg mixing with the pork belly for heavenly breakfast bliss. The mocha waffle, or moffle as they call it, also available in gluten free form, is chewy, tasty, and oh so breakfast in a perfect bite. It comes with an absurd amount of syrup in a separate container (first world problems, I know!) to dip bites in before chowing down. Not sure about their current dine in status or bathrooms, but hey, that moffle and pork belly sometimes require sacrifices. Just drive to Kailua beach and enjoy your take out meal if you have to. They can be slow though on making the food as it appears most things are made to order. So call it in instead. Or just hang out in the Manoa Chocolate shop nearby until your food is ready.

Parking: a bit hard to find but look for the white banner sign hung on the fence. Came for the coffee: Delicious and strong Vietnamese coffee. They drip brew this authentically Vietnamese, and it was perfect. Currently they don't offer seating in restaurant due to Covid. I would definitely return to try their vanilla latte made with a homemade vanilla syrup. They have a second location in Honolulu.
