The food isn't going to knock your socks off. It is pub fare, nothing more. The beer menu is terribly out of date, so don't bet on the menu on the wall or the menu that you are handed when you sit down. If you just want to belly up to a bar, have some standard bar food that is overpriced, and drink a beer...go for it.

This is a cute place with a nice vibe. I’ve been here three times - once with someone else, twice by myself. Your service will be slower and less attentive if you come alone, and I tend to rate restaurants poorly for that. If you come with a group, your experience will be great.

Best late night local "beer me" spot with great viewing of Sports with Flat Screens arranged strategically placed throughout da bar. Service is always friendly and relatively fast, depending on how busy they are. This Sunday afternoon the bar has mainly locals at da bar and at the small tables located throughout the rather dark but well decorated interior. The finish of the NFL Season has made the bar more laid back with NASCAR, Surfing, Basketball & Golf the primary sports today. I'm here for that famous cooked to order All American Burger to satisfy my carnivore cravings! A 5-minute drive from my house, makes for a convenient lunch stop on my lazy weekend off. My first break from Officiating Hawaii High School Wrestling this year. Aaaaaaaaah! Life is good here on da windward side of da Island in Kailua Town!

I was craving a French Dip and took a chance here. I called for it to go and asked for the fries to have garlic added. They had no problem subbing in for regular fries even though it isn't on their menu. I went in and the food was ready right on time and it was all still hot. Paid quickly with the intention on eating at home, but wanted a bite in the car while it was hot. 5 minutes later and all I had left was memories. It was delectable. Salty and umami, the au jus was jam packed with flavor and went great with the fries. Plenty of extra juice to completely soak the sandwich with extra to dip the fries. Overall, this is the best French Dip I have had on island and I will be back again soon. This time to dine in and have a few beers to go with it.

Great place to grab a drink, mellow atmosphere. Low dim lights. They have a small speakeasy in the back, which you need reservations for ahead of time. Great place to chill. Friendly staff.

As of this date, 1/1/24, this place is my new Best Burger on Oahu. To begin with, the 10 ounces of beef is absolutely delicious and so good it was a bit surreal. The cheese was perfectly melted, while the lettuce, onion and tomato was ice chilled. My tastebuds were in food heaven. Go and eat this amazing burger. You'll be thanking me for this once in a lifetime Burger experience. FYI, I asked for BBQ sauce on the side - tasty and not sweet oh, and Catherine was a great server & bartender, too!

UPDATE: Well, no good deed goes unpunished. We went to Kailua Town Pub this morning for our usual Sunday football and breakfast and, after ordering a drink, I was accosted by the owner’s son who asked if I was the guy who wrote the review below (6 weeks ago). I said I was and he said “You have to leave.” My response was “You and your father behaved badly and disrespectfully to your customers and I’m the one who has to leave?” His reply was to tell me I was an a$$hole and was 86’d forever. At age 75 and after 45 years in the bar business I think I got the best of that deal.Original review:Normally I would give Kailua Town Pub a much higher rating. I’m a “regular” NFL Sunday breakfast customer and Savannah, Sam, Emily, and the rest of the staff do a good job – cheerfully and professionally keeping the customers satisfied with decent food, drinks and service. This morning, however, I witnessed the owner/manager (or the owner’s husband or whoever he is) sit at the bar and order steak & eggs breakfasts for both himself and his son. He apparently, however, instructed the staff to replace the usual 10–12-ounce breakfast steaks with 28-ounce Wagyu Porterhouses for Two from the menu of the (attached and family-owned but separately operated/managed) Gaslight Speakeasy. So here we have the owner/manager/whatever, openly sitting in plain sight of a room full of breakfast diners/potential diners and eating an obviously much higher quality meal than any of them can order.Yes, I know it’s their bar and they can do pretty much whatever they want but just because you “can,” doesn’t mean you “should,” especially when it exhibits such blatant disdain for your clientele. If you are that disrespectful of the people who pay your bills you should at least try not to show it so visibly. Such rude displays of privilege and condescension make horrible optics, especially in a business that depends so heavily on the goodwill of their customers.Jus’ sayin’…

Been coming to the pub for years for Sunday Football, but this past experience really was worth writing a review for! The fish and chips super juicy, crispy beer battered deliciousness, and don't get me started on the burger! Fat juicy cheesy YUM! Service really has stepped up their game Bartenders were attentive and food came out quick! Will definitely be back!

This is a tough review to write. The bar, ambiance, and prices are solid, but depending on who's working can make or break the experience. I've been here 7+ times and most of the staff has been great. If you're planning on finding a local dive bar to invest your time, this will be it; but not immediately if you care about speedy service/attentive bartenders. This bar has a lot of regulars that frequent it. Most experienced, exceptional bartenders understand this and balance it between the regulars and new customers; some are still learning (or may be in the wrong industry altogether). I've seen this balance with every bartender except Kiki. If she wasn't prioritizing chatting with the regulars, then she was on her phone. I had to ask the barback to ask her to get a drink because she was so disconnected from serving anyone that wasn't in her circle of regulars (barback was solid and friendly as most others are). All in all, I'll come back. This place is a solid spot in Kailua with good food that serves later than most places. Maybe just a bump to management that they should consistently measure the customer service and experience that their staff are executing to.
