“We were looking for place to sit down out of the sun, so after driving by this restaurant a few days, we decided to check it out. We're from San Diego, so finding Mexican food on anybody the islands that measures up to places back home is not easy. Mariachi's was surprisingly good. The beef taquitos were crisp - almost like lumpia, and we enjoyed them. Guacamole was just average. The nachos were also really good - the chips were the highlight. Flour tortillas, freshly made and they stayed crispy even under all the toppings. Nice balance of cheese, meat and beans. I don't know if the salsa was homemade but it was good. Cheese quesadilla for our picky daughter was just average, but not sure how you can make a plain cheese quesadilla exciting, so it was ok. The location is right off the busy street and our view was passing cars, but the restaurant was large and roomy with lots of big windows. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were average. Everything on Kauai is higher priced than the other islands, so no surprises. Didn't try the cocktails but if we go back we'll check out the margaritas - they had a nice variety.“
