Shame that Sam's is closing. The meals were excellent and the service outstanding. We have met new friends over the years. Sarah has done a fantastic job as our go to server over the past few years. We wish Sam and all of the staff all the best.

So sad this gem of a restaurant is closing. Quality and creativity of dishes and cocktails is high and consistent. Will miss the Ahi Tuna and panko crusted daily fish. Good luck to staff and owner - you will be missed!!!
Great beach/water view and great parmesean crusted fish with mashed and a delicious caper sauce. Cocktails looked good but we were wiped from a super long diverted 10hr flight with a middle of night drive to airport - we'll be back!

We have been visiting this restaurant for several years. We met the owner at COSTCO. She spoke about her employees as if they were family. We love the food, atmosphere, cool vibes and excellent service at “S.O.V.” Our waiter this time was Alan. Always exceptional! This group is servers, hostesses, bartenders and support staff are some of the best in Kauai!

We have loved Sam's since it opened and have regularly dined there when we are on the island. We winter on Kauai in Kapaa. We are so disappointed that it is closing. I want to wish Sam the best of luck in her future endeavors. She may remember meeting us with our daughter-in-law from South Africa soon after she opened.

Fantastic experience at SOV. Sad to know they will be closing soon though we were happy to be in the fun environment they have created. All the waitstaff and hostess were super nice, helpful and you can feel the camaraderie amongst them. Good luck to you guys...a hui hou.
The environment was much too loud for us. It had a great view but it was not at all what I imagined. Food was not fancy for the price and service was ehhh. The pictures of the food online made it seem more upscale and elegant but food looked like pub food. Not our type of place .
The food was amazing. Over the top with a fusion of flavors that will make this a favorite food memory. The grilled tuna dinner and the grilled cheese appetizer—both so creative and exquisite that we can't wait to go back. Already craving a repeat. And it seems they offer take out if a reservation is not available.

I did find a place past the restaurant on the gravel driveway which tool a minute to get into.The place was rocking on Friday night. We had a reservation and got in quickly.I had kind of decided to have fish and chips before we had arrived, and I didn't hear anything to change my mind. My wife decided to get eggplant parmesan.The fish and chips were fantastic. Crispy and fried perfectly without being greasy or oily. The tartar sauce fit perfectly too.The coleslaw is a little spicy, which I loved. Really good stuff.My wife loved the eggplant and spaghetti. Raved about it.We decided to get the Maui gold pineapple upside down cake. Served warm, with Lapperts coconut sorbet and house made whipped cream. Omg! Amazing! One of the best desserts of all time.Great food and great time overall.

Friendly. Gorgeous views and breezy ocean air. Fish was under seasoned but they did bring salt on request. Ahi sesame ginger was way too sweet but the shrimp on the side were delicious with the added salt.
