Roots of Reason

My husband ordered a dairy free iced coffee for me. Unfortunately they loaded the top with whipped cream!!! Go figure. My husband isn't the type to keep his receipts so his car doesn't get messy, but he called 10 mins after picking it up and spoke to an employee at closing and they said the iced coffee would be credit under his first name. The very next day when I called to place the order, the manager Jessica gave me a hard time and refused to give credit or the drink. Some customer service. Couldn't even tell you if my nearly $7 coffee was any good because I had NONE of it as I'm lactose intolerant. This place will make you pay for their mistakes. I'm a manager myself, and this is not customer service. Period. Don't go here.

Aesthetically pleasing, clean, open layout. Reminds me of the cafes in Korea/Japan. Friendly service. When we walked in there was a long line but it moved quickly. I tried the sea salt matcha latte - ono! Tastes like a normal latte with the added taste of heavy whipping cream with salt. You should try it! Choc chip cookie has oatmeal in it. Very nice and soft. Choc chips are big. Ube pastry looks good but wasn't as much cream inside as expected. Still tastes good tho!

Pastries are good. Great new bakery in our community. Supports our schools nearby.

Love this place!!!! We just celebrated Hinamatsuri (Girl's day) at work and ordered some goodies from this cafe. The desserts were a hit and impressed our team. Really appreciate how tasty and how convenient this cafe is. I may have set ourselves up for being repeat customers for the next event. Mahalo to the management and staff as EVERYONE was a pleasure to work with. They had everything packaged well, offered to help me carry things to the car and got me all I needed. The Iced mocha I ordered and drank on the way was also Ono and gave me the pick me up I needed

Pretty pricey for what you get. I didn't se anything particularly appealing at this location. The Kapolei location seems to have a better selection.

I've been to this establishment on numerous occasions and have always walked out with one or two pastries and/or drink. The service and environment is appropriate. They may want to consider a larger facility in the future because it can get very busy and extremely crowded.

Their hours of operation says it closes at 6pm but if you go at 3:00pm there is barely anything on the shelves. They always say 'sorry we're done baking' I've come here several times and just walked out because there's nothing to buy.. sad! The mainland locations and Ala Moana are always stocked, thus store should be stocked too!

This place is much closer than BRUG, I honestly feel that this place as a lot of variety of delicious breads to cakes. The best part is their coffee and tea, you should come here to stop by to grab a spot to eat (there is tables and chairs behind) very

Location is convenient, lots of parking. Only complaint is the few times I went, the shelves seem bare/empty. Not much options if you go at a later time

This 85C location in Kapolei is smaller and they have a limited selection of baked goods compared to Ala Moana. They are located inside the Kapolei Shopping Center next to Taco Bell. It's convenient if you live in Kapolei or if you're heading to Ko Olina and you want to pick up pastries or boba drinks. I went for the grand opening and it was really good because they had a full selection of pastries but the last couple of times I visited, I didn't see brioche or the mochi egg tarts. I ended up getting the mini lemon sponge cakes and a sea salt caramel coffee since I didn't want to leave empty handed. The taste of the cakes and the coffee were consistent. They only have 2 registers open so it does take a while to pay for your items. I prefer the Ala Moana location over this one.

The baked goodies are light and very flavorful, we enjoyed every thing to date and we have been there 5 times 3 weeks. The neighbors we shared with were pleased and did not know where this Bakery was.

I'm not a fan of this 85degrees in kapolei. I went in right after work one day and they were out of most items. The counters and shelves were bare. At the Ala Moana location, I can go in at 7pm and there are still things in the shelves. The workers were just ok. They weren't that friendly and one person walked right past me when I was trying to get his attention. They basically aren't as attentive here and the service quality is not as good as other 85degrees I've been to, both in Hawaii and on the continent. It just seems like they don't care here at this kapolei location. The workers seem new and apathetic. Which is unfortunate because I love the grapefruit iced tea. I'll just have to get it somewhere else from now on. There also isn't that much parking near the store. It's kind of awkwardly positioned on its own and the set up is kinda weird.
