This wasvour first time visiting Doraku and we will return. The atmosphere and service people we excellent. The sushi roll ultimate roll was very good. The ebi sushi with just a touch of Wasabi inside.... just like served in Japan! Prices are reasonable. They have a bar. Really enjoyed the sushi chef's! Like I said...we will be back!

It's a mixed plate here. The food was good. (By that I mean I expected more for what I paid.) The menu isn't super clear. Atmosphere is iffy and inconsistent. It's super upscale, but also tries to accommodate others.? .. poorly. This establishment hasn't found its balance. Cocktails are very on point because they are made well. Yes the seats are crazily uncomfortable. The fish is fresh and tastes amazing. I just can't give this place the awesome review I'd like to. I wouldn't suggest bringing a bigger party here. Service is OK but definitely not for the price. Don't sit in a booth or sit at the bar if it's for one or two people. They have high end liquor which I appreciate but this place kinda misses the mark for me. Only reason I'd come back is for freshness of a piece of fish I had. Probably won't be back.

Everything is amazing. Service is friendly and laid back, food is always tops. Highly recommend the Uni quail egg oyster shooter, and hotate shooters...hamachi kama is the one! Lychee martinis are always a go to there.

The food was amazing and that’s the only reason why it had a 3 star. Willing to try again to see if there’s a different service and will edit review after, because the food was great.But this experience was our first time there. We got seated and wasn’t given drinks until about 20 minutes later. Not even a “sorry we are busy and will be with you when we can” I noticed they catered a little more towards the tourist than the locals that were there. Example they brought glass bottles of water to refill our water cups. But they just so happened to only be helping the tourist refill theirs. I don’t mind filling my own water but if you’re gonna do theirs, do everyone’s. Since we were waiting so long I could notice everyone’s orders were taken already, and even after getting our water we still waited longer to have our orders taken. Our food slowly came out in a span of an hour. Would have been a little better if they at least waited on the food that is faster to make so that it would all come out closer in time. Aside from everything else it would have been fine but there was more. A couple times I tried to flag down and he just zoomed right by. He only stopped by twice, to take our order and to ask how was everything. Our plates kept piling up on the side of the table When it came to me asking for the check, he stopped by two tables, one was a big group before we even got our check handed to us.. Then I waited while he talked to his coworkers before I even got my card back. All of this I waited over 20 minutes just to pay and get my card back.The food though was really good. Even the desserts. Definitely will come back again hopefully service was just having a bad day
Food was just okay. We had several tempura items and it was not great. The tempura batter was much thicker than expected. The wagyu fried rice was pretty good. Service was just okay. Would not return.Parking: Small strip mall parking lot. It was very busy and very difficult to find a spot when we visited.

This is not the first time here. We brought guests with this time visiting the island. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Our server was very nice and attentive. However, at the end of our meal, I felt as though we were being rushed to leave. We still had drinks we were finishing, and they kept clearing the table as if to give us a hint to hurry up and finish our drinks. I could see if they were busy and we were taking up space and time. However, there was only one table of customers and a few people at the bar. For this reason, I am not giving 5 stars. As paying customers, we should not be rushed to leave.
Kind of hidden all the way in the back to the left of the Kapolei Shopping center. You'll find this place. They specialize in Sushi, but they also offer a variety of other items besides fish base to help get a good mixture experience of the culture establishment. Atmosphere can be initmate with lighting, should you be in a date. But it's also family firendly.

wish i could give 0 stars . the crispy eel roll was so bad .Food was mediocre , definitely not worth 20$ a roll .Im mostly giving 0 stars for the lady i talked to over the phone. i left my purse there on accident and the lady i called to see if it was there was extremely condescending and told me that no one had it multiple times, made me feel dumb for even asking , i even said “can you please just take my number down just in case anyone finds it, she was annoyed and rude the whole conversation , so my husband had to go into the restaurant and they finally took him seriously , turns out they did have it the whole time , never called me to tell me my purse was there. and then gave it to my husband .
