I used to bring "Island Lava" to my family and friends on the mainland! Now I can't seem to find it anywhere... Did they go out of business?

The island lava is amazing. On top of that you can be sure that you are supporting a company that cares about its customers. I will recant a story of mine here today. I had been binging on island lava for a couple weeks, working out and eating the passionfruit cookie brittle as a post-workout carbohydrate to go along with my protein was becoming a daily routine. Well no company is perfect and one day I bought a couple bags from costco, unbeknownst to me my girlfriend also bought a bag from the NEX (navy exchange). Unfortunately these bags were both overcooked and to me nearly inedible. I threw them out and cursed the island lava. I told my girlfriend to complain and send an email to see what happens. Normally nothing comes back from such complaints but we got a genuine response from Daria. We received 4 pristine packages of the passion fruit island lava a few days later. And now here I sit writing this review so that others can know that not only will you receive a great tasting snack from this company but if they mess something up they will recompense you with twice the amount. Talk about customer service that is so lacking these days not only in the islands but abroad.

I saw these at Costco on Maui and was instantly drawn to it. How could I resist something that's described as crispy lilikoi cookies topped with payaya, guava, mango, and macadamia nuts? That's right, I couldn't! I bought myself a bag and opened it up to try as soon as I exited the store. I was thrilled with my buy! The cookies come in large thin rectangles that you can break up at will. Each one is chock full of yummy lilikoi flavor and the bits of fruit and nuts on top add a good contrast in texture. So addicting. You can bet a bag of these went back to California with me. Munching on them now as I type, yum yum.

Our Daughter sent these to us. She has no idea what she started. Our granddaughter heads straight to the bag when she gets here. She's 11 months old.

I love island lava ! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go buy a bunch of bags to send to the mainland for Christmas. Sooooo delicious and definitely my new favorite snack!

I just love the Island Lava! Brought them back to California in my suitcase, since the only place I've seen them for sale is in Costco in Kauai. Of course the pieces are much smaller after a flight home, but the taste is still as delicious!

I really love the chocolate dipped shortbread cookies and the passion fruit island lava brittle. The Big Island and Honolulu Cookie company just cannot compete with this company. And so far, every person that I let sample the passion fruit island lava brittle and chocolate dipped shortbread cookie, enjoys it very much and always want to know where i bought it from and so on.. It's a big hit with everyone to be honest. Now this is my new favorite cookie company (as of Dec. 2015) that makes the best tasting treats and goodies that have such unreal and irresistable flavors exploding in your mouth! The prices for the quantity is also awesome, especially for the QUALITY of ingredients that they use. To me, there isn't anything negative for me to say with my experiences with buying these yummy treats. Please believe me when i say EVERYONE will love treats from Hawaii Gourmet Cookies Inc.

Absolutely delicious! My daughter bought this treat at the Costco in Maui and we all fell in love with it! You need to ship it to the mainland, especially San Diego California! It truly represents the flavors of Hawaii! As we say in the islands....ONO!

Oh, these things are Killa... I love the Kona Coffee flavor ones with some Haupia Ice Cream... and the Coconut is also a favorite... the Tropical Fruit is also good ones.. I had to make myself stop or could have eaten a whole bag in one sitting... these are great desert treats.. so glad Costco stocks em...

Island Lava is the perfect blend of island flavors & crispness, it's like a bite of Hawaii! I'll be taking it as omiyage to Japan in September & Washington state in November. So ono, can't stop eating it!

Wow, these little cookies are good!!! My wife bought a package and had me try. I am impressed...so impressed that I stopped what I was doing and wrote this review (after I pretty much ate the whole 12 oz. bag). The flavor is REALLY sweet, rich and tasty. Usually passion fruit (lilikoi) flavored cookies don't really taste like the real thing or the flavor is kinda weak, with just a hint of lilikoi... BUT these cookies (more like wafers, really) have an authentic lilikoi taste. To be honest, another reason I wrote this is because I saw the two other reviews that gave only one or two stars, complaining that the photo on the package that shows the cookies was misleading and I quote, "false advertising" and a "lie"....What??? Well, that is simply not true, unless they changed the packaging after the bad reviews, which I kinda doubt. On my bag, at least, the cookies look exactly the same as the picture. Anyway, 5 stars folks !!!

island lava has a nice picture on package. product inside does not look anything like picture. Why lie?

I bought a 12 oz bag of Island Lava from the NEX. The photo on the package is VERY misleading. I looked at all the cookies in the bag and there are only a few small flecks of fruit and nuts on each one. And like Carol P. notes, there are no fruits on the bottom of the package either. The cookies themselves taste ok, but I was misled into thinking that each cookie would be topped with lots of fruits as the photo on the front of the bag depicts. I feel ripped off.

Island Lava Cookie. I just bought a package of these cookies at Costco as they looked scrumptious. On the package each cookies is topped with dozens of pieces of tropical fruit which is not accurate. In my package of cookies, for approximately four cookies, there is one tiny piece of tropical fruit. I placed my cookies exactly like they are on the front of the package and instead of the dozens of pieces of fruit - THERE WERE 9 PICES TOTAL. This is false advertising. And, they are not on the bottom of the package - they are simply not there. Although the cookies taste good, they do not look good as they are completely plain and void of fruit.

Was just given a bucket of the Tropical T-Mac. They are horrible. I have NEVER tasted something so awful. Don't buy them! They are NOT worth the money or the calories.
