The coffee is fantastic. Smooth and balanced cold brew. The prices are much more reasonable than their two local competitors: Kraken and Lava Java. Their prices for a brewed/iced coffee are easily 30-40% lower than other independent shops. The setting though is idyllic!! BEAUTIFUL garden Courtyard! Absolutely stunning, so relaxing and my absolute favorite.

Are you not a morning person? Do you need good coffee every morning in order to become human but you’re battling jet lag from the time difference between home & Maui- which seems to have completely skipped over your little ones who are gleefully bouncing off the walls by 5:00am because it’s 8:00am back home where you live? Da Green Coffee needs to be your FIRST stop on morning #1 to Maui (& then every morning after)! They offer excellent coffee & smoothie options at a fraction of big chain coffee prices, a variety of yummy toast options (for all you avocado toast junkies out there!), & a keiki menu (kids menu). Plus, unlike a big chain shop where you get coffee & get out but for 2x or 3x the price of Da Green, this coffee paradise is located in the beautiful South Maui Gardens for that lush, tropical Hawaiian feel you waited so long for. Plus, there’s so many little free things to keep your keiki’s occupied while the coffee works it’s way through your veins & transforms you into a real human again each morning. There’s a big tortoise enclosure right next to the shop, a butterfly garden, koi pond, orchid garden, a vintage Astin Martin (looky- no touchy), lots of space for little ones to run off their energy while you DRINK yours, & chickens EVERYWHERE! It’s keiki heaven!I happened to meet the owner, Ali (pictured with her big beautiful smile! ), while our family was in Kihei in 2021- right before Da Green’s grand opening! Sadly we left before the doors opened. When the fires (Lahaina, Kihei & Kula) happened, we connected & I worked with her to immediately send important, hard to get relief supplies like newborn & premie baby formula in those vital 1st days, then we continued that work for weeks as South Maui Gardens set up a distribution center for fire victim. I’ve never publicly mentioned the work I did to help Maui after the fires because I believe the praise should ALL go to the people of Maui. But I feel that it was important to show how beautiful Ali’s soul is & how much passion she & her family have for their home & their community in Maui & that would be hard to do unless I explained how I know that about them. I wasn’t the only person on the mainland she was working with either. She had so many mainland contacts she was coordinating & was doing real time updates on social media because she had Starlink & solar power at a time when all cell, electricity & internet were down (starting 24 hours before the fires due to the intense winds). DaGreen offered free coffee to fire victims so they had a familiar place to go every day after losing so many of their own familiar places. Ali & her family also provided so much support throughout the island community while still running this business, other family businesses, & continuing her work with the kupuna (elders) in the community. That passion & kindness isn’t just reserved for emergencies. It’s who she & her family are. You’ll feel it throughout this coffee shop & all of South Maui Gardens. They honestly love what they do, they love their island home, their community, & they enjoy providing that feeling to all their guests PLUS good coffee!Since we missed the grand opening in 2021, I had to go check out Da Green when I returned to Maui in November 2023 & I was blown away! I’ve been coming to Maui since 1993. I’ve visited Kihei almost exclusively since 2004 including twice in 2023. So how did I not know South Maui Gardens was there?! Such an exquisite location which also hosts a weekly hula show, a wedding venue area, as well as several small shops like Da Green, & a variety of incredible food trucks. We’re heading back to Kihei in July to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with friends & family on island & from mainland so we’ll be sure to be adding Da Green Coffee to the list of suggested businesses to visit while our mainland guests are on island. I hope you add Da Green to your “places to visit” too! You won’t be disappointed!

Super good food and reasonable prices, considering what you get and where you are…we went there 3x during our stay and were always happy. Their smoothie is one of the few without Banana which was a plus. Outside are some chairs and tables to enjoy your food or relax during the wait.P.S. As a European, the service is beyond friendly and what might come across to Americans as “rude” is actual efficiency. The ladies behind the counter just manage the large amount of customers very smoothly - no time for excessive chitchat…

This charming garden sanctuary coffee hut is located adjacent to the South Maui Gardens & is an escape into a forest of various landscapes & species. The coffee takes a second hand to the beautiful baristas and natural setting, but it’s good enough & priced accordingly.Spend hours here, walk around & explore, then eat at one of the various food trucks nearby. Also, the beach is close enough too! Relaxed vibes will bring me back ??

The coffee spot is located in a very beautiful garden. I have been there 10 times while I was in Maui. The service was not very friendly and never thanked me for my 20% tip every day. The warm coffee is not good as they do not have a real barista who does not know how to steam milk. The cold coffee (iced latte) was very good though.

Place is wicked cute, and the lolikoi tarte is delightful as well. Coffee is fine; pretty strong dark roast so you’ll be happy if that’s your taste and sad otherwise!
