Great ribs, burnt ends and cornbread. Met the owner at another local establishment and decided to check his place out too. Everything was hot, flavorful and tender. Service was fast and we will be making this a stop every time we visit Maui.
This is some of the best all around bbq we’ve ever had. Usually a place has excellent ________. Just one meat. This one had it all. And the cornbread - definitely order extra!!! The man who owns it is very kind and we enjoyed the whole experience very much.

We ordered the sample plater. With Cole slaw and Mac and cheese. I could make better mac and cheese from a box. The brisket was dry and flavorless some how the pork belly was also dry. The ribs were tender but had very little flavor. The service was ok but not a very good atmosphere and they charged for water.

All I can say is "WOW!!!" We had ribs and chicken with the truffle Mac and all of it was amazing! The meat was falling off the bone and packed with flavor. We even went back a second time. The owner was very friendly and treated us with a warm welcome. I hope to see this place recover from the hard times they've experienced since covid. Give them a try you will not be disappointed. It is not a fancy fine dining restaurant, but exactly what you should expect from a Smokehouse. I highly recommend the ribs and chicken. Give it a chance and you won't regret it!

Everything was perfect! Ribs and chicken were seriously some of the best I, and my boyfriend have ever had. Literally falling off of the bone! Oh and the cornbread, BOMB ??I felt as if the prices were more than fair for the quality! Definitely worth stopping by

It makes it hard to rate this so low, as it used to be much more enjoyable. Since Covid, they have still not resumed beer/alcohol service, no biggie for me, I don't drink anymore, but lower your expectations. There is a large, fenced in patio area that used to be pleasant outside-ish seating. That area is now used for storage. The owner was working and said he needed to get it up to storage. If there's storage, don't clutter the visual aspect of your tiny dining room with boxes of storable items, and give a little comfort space. I asked how he was keeping open, catering? He said, "low labor". So he's not providing many jobs. It used to be a sit down place, now you order at the counter, take your number to your table with your can of soda or overpriced Costco bottle water, 25 cents at Costco, and add additional plastic waste to the island. He said business really hasn't come back.... Probably due to atmosphere and options. I understand business fell close to a complete stop after the fires, but most of the restaurants in the area are doing great currently. The food was good, usually great. I know it's smoked, and keeping it too warm can overcook/dry it out, but it was just above room temp. Portions were okay, Truffle Mac and cheese didn't taste much different than regular, potato salad had a good dressing, but was more just chunks of potato with dressing in it. Food is served on paper on a small baking sheet with paper liner; the meat was tender enough to cut with a basic dinner knife, but as the paper got soggy, it was easily cut into and pieces come up with your bite. Maui doesn't have a lot of good BBQ options, wish they cared more.Parking: Tight area, lots of bars and restaurants.

Food is great. No alcohol. Waitress said due to decline in customers after Lahaina fire they quit selling beer. Plates are different now with less meat and sides, I think. I have eaten there 10 times in last couple years. The barbecue is wonderful but there is less of everything including service.

Just finished our take out tonight: oh doggy was that a great meal! I had the ribs and my honey had the pulled pork. The sauce is fantastic but wasn’t needed because the meat was so deliciously seasoned and cooked. What a great surprise - a repeat visit is on the schedule before we head back to Alaska.

One of the best meals we had on Maui. Burnt ends and pulled pork were perfect. Sides were well done - the coleslaw has a light vinaigrette on it instead of creamy style but it was one of my favorite coleslaws ever. BBQ sauce is bomb. Owner is a super nice down to earth guy. Will come back here any chance we can!

We have come to Maui and ate at fat daddy’s every trip and have been pleased with the food and service. This year there is an obvious difference and not for the better. We were told no butter or honey for the cornbread, the waitress seemed put off when we asked for xtra barbecue sauce and when I got the order to our condo one order wasn’t complete.

WOW!! This was soo delicious!! We had all the meats which were exceptional!! The cornbread was the best I’ve ever had!! Brisket soooo good and tender! The chicken and ribs also soo delicious and tender. The kindest service most hospitable service!
