Great sushi place. It was expensive, but delicious. Everything from the miso soup and edamame, to the sushi rolls and nigiri. Great food presentation and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Very small sushi place in a strip mall. Honestly so so good and authentic. There’s only a couple who runs the place so don’t come here if you expect Fast!! If u have the time though you won’t be disappointed. Fresh and tasty.

The shrimp or scallop dynamite is their best food here at Okus. Their sushi nigiri always tastes fresh too but not a fan of their fish to rice ratio. I've always loved their server, always so sweet and smiling. It can be a long wait for your food if the place is full. Very small neat area.

Seriously one of the best little sushi places! First come first serve! We sat at the counter and was able to watch the chef make all the sushi! Perfect hole in the wall place! Don’t even get me started on the sushi! And the dynamite! Please don’t forget the miso soup! The fish was so buttery and soft! It is BYOB! Thank you chef and aunty for the best service and meal! I would give me them 10 stars if I could! Dine in only, no take out.

This place is a hole in the wall and doesn't have a lot of tables so come early in the day to ensure a seat. Incredible food!!! The miso Ramen soup was so so good, the dynamite combo, the sushi. Everything:) Also there is a liquor store around the corner if you want to grab a bottle of something to have with your meal as they allow you to bring your own bottle. Thank you for incredible meals! It was so good we had to go back again during our trip:)

Can’t emphasize enough how delicious the fish is here. The spicy tuna roll was the best piece of maki I have ever had, and coming from someone who eats sushi in Houston very often! It had a creaminess that was so unique and tasty. We had multiple orders of hamachi sashimi because one was not enough. I have never written a google review but writing this on the way back to our hotel because it was that good! You will not be sorry treating yourself to Oku San’s offerings. The dynamite scallop was also very unique and filling. 10/10.

Worth the 45 minute drive in traffic from kaanapali beach. This hidden gem in a strip mall features lovingly hand-crafted sushi and Japanese specialties. The restaurant is tiny, with only 4 tables and a sushi bar, but was clean and felt authentically Japanese. The service was genuine and friendly. We went mid-afternoon for a late lunch around 3pm. We heard that it gets quite crowded for dinner so we were happy to miss the rush. Overall a delicious experience.

There are three tables in the whole place and they decide when they stop serving. I think they usually want everybody gone around 8 PM. So go early. I do not believe they do take out. Here's why. It is run by a couple. And they are not young. But wow. The food is unbelievable. Looking at it, it's very unexpected. They turned away. A lot of people are over there. They simply wait on who they can handle and that's what they do. So if you are lucky enough to get in, you will not be disappointed. Definitely order the $39 8- piece sushi plate. Fantastic selection of raw sushi. If you prefer cooked options, one of their specialty items is the Dynamite scallops. It's a casserole style dish with a cream sauce. This would never be anything I would order but someone on our table did , and it was so fantastic that we ordered another plate for the table. All of the rolls were fantastic. Every single one. If you are lucky enough to get in here, enjoy! If not, keep trying, and be polite. Not everybody was when they returned away. Highly recommend!
