The best shave ice I tried it was soft the ice cream was delightful I also tried the dole whip 10/10.

Perfect, hit the spot! I'd probably eat everything DF on their menu, from shave ice to dole whip and vegan coconut ice cream! The Small is comically large, so consider sharing if you're not too hungry. Perfect amount of syrup, plenty at the bottom. Smooth, soft ice. Near Foodland. Very quick service on a Saturday night.

This was our favorite shave ice location during our visit to Maui. We were lucky enough to have Gianna help us each time. She was super sweet and very kind. She was very helpful in recommending flavors. Our favorite was the blue wave. HUGE thank you, Gianna, for making us the best shave ice!

Wow. The Hawaiian shaved ice here is not coarse! Finally someone has figured out that Asian-style shaved ice, with texture akin to powder snow, is superior to coarse ice. Just like powder snow in Lake Tahoe is superior for skiing than the east coast Icy snow.

My wife and I were looking for a shaved ice place late on a Sunday night and we stopped by Surfing Monkey, We asked for a large with ice cream and snow cap. The ice cream was not fresh and was in the fridge in a ziplock bag, the amount was decent but the flavor was off.

Exellent ice cream and shaved ice. Good service. This is the only ice cream/shaving ice place ipen late.The pineapple ace cream is very good. It is reach in taste and has pieces of pineapple. So good!!!

Can't go wrong with shaved ice in Maui! Easy walk up shack booth with a wide array of flavors. I got Root Beer and Mango and of course added the cream - it's a must! Very yummy and would come back. They also have a couple of seats as well so you can sit down and enjoy your ice.
Surfing Monkey makes really good shave ice, for a good price. Friendly service and neat atmosphere.

Really glad this place makes their own syrups ( no neon red/blue/yellow food additives). The flavors was not that great though, a bit watery and lackluster. And like everything else on Maui these days, too expensive ($12 for large with vanilla ice cream) . But kudos for keeping your product healthier by not using the chemical flavoring that other shops use!

Personally, I think Ululani's just slaps differently, but this place isn't bad. It has all the same tropical flavors for shaved ice and ice cream, and they're generous with the servings as well. You can choose up to three flavors for shaved ice, and they offer preset specials if you can't decide on your favorite combination. I'd strongly recommend getting ice cream at the bottom of your shaved ice though, since the syrup doesn't really reach the bottom, and you're left with unflavored ice. Not the best end to your sugary treat. You can also add sweet cream to the top, or li hing powder (latter free of charge). There's some tables and seating outside.
