My friends always enjoy coming here and talking about the quality of the fish and it being one of their favorite hole-in-the-wall places to recommend for their visiting friends. I remember trying the Matcha ice cream they had that they always would get after their meal, and I remember it being pretty high quality- Miguel Morales Photography

First time dining and the food was outstanding! Small restaurant with very few tables allows for a relaxed, almost private dining experience unlike the crowded, noisy alternatives found elsewhere.I was initially reluctant to preorder my menu choices with a requested reservation online, but did so upon being reassured by our friends. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time and were promptly seated. Our first entree of the most delicious, fresh sushi was brought to the table moments later. Obviously, the chef had been preparing it prior to our arrival. We spent nearly 2 hours enjoying the wonderful food and the company of our friends.I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant if you are willing to make dinner plans in advance.

My wife and I made reservations for 5:30 on 6/6 /23 because weLove sushi sashimi. And when we arrived, although the place was virtually empty the hostess...a term I will use loosley...told us that we could not come in because we also had to order before arrival.So...If you want to go to a restaurant that makes you pre order before you have ever stepped through thier door, this is the place for youI have never been so disrespectedby the Japanese culture in my life.

Good sushi, a little dated, I guess we were expecting something more special. Very good quality but not as good on a whole as other places we've been on the mainland or in HI. Respect to the old school chef but even the best need to modernize a little as time goes

Must go! Best fresh fish. LOVED my experience. Lovely owners- you have to pre-order because they buy it fresh from the fish market day of. Worth it and every bite

I live on Maui. I have had sushi my whole life. Chief Watanabe is amazing. Sushi Paradise has the best sushi on the Island and possibly the State. Try his seafood salad to start with, its incredible. If you are a tourist please expect to wait a bit for your food. This isn't N.Y. and the food your receive here is more than worth the wait. Yes, you may be requested to show a vaccination card and to wear a mask. Remember, if you don't like the rules you can always eat somewhere else.

Fantastic fish quality, service makes you feel at home. Black sesame ice cream is like no other. Please respect their COVID protocols. Reservations are required.

Hands down best sushi I have ever had. Very fresh. It is the best restaurant we visited on your trip. Make sure you plan ahead and make reservation. Also, you must show proof of vaccination (online proof was acceptable) and wear a mask when entering. It is a small shop ran by two older individuals, and I respect their wishes so it was no problem with me.

Now and then there is a rude review on here. Typically, it appears to be from people who did not read up or plan ahead and didn't want to follow the standards the restaurant has set. This place is amazing. I felt like a guest in their home. I've never had avocado rolls that were so delicious. I'm not even sure I liked them before coming here. The fish was quality and wonderful, and the food left you feeling good. The hostess was sweet and kind. Reservations need to be made in advance and food needs to be ordered online a day or two before. It actually made the meal more relaxing and prevents waste. This is not your typical sushi restaurant, and it is well worth the price.

The little lady is so sweet and the sushi is absolutely delicious. Something that I will never ever find anything close to. It was a great experience. When we come back to Maui we will definitely be eating here again!
