This is right up there with Mama's. Wonderful wine selection at a great price, right on the ocean where you can see turtles popping up for air. Food is glorious, we feel it was better tasting than Spagos.

As far as atmosphere- 5 stars. It's really open and airy. You can't get any closer to the ocean! They also have a really nice bar to sit at. I especially enjoyed the coconut/pineapple cocktail. 5 stars for the menu and food. It's a concise menu with several seafood options. We had the catch of the day, and mahi-mahi which was so fresh and wonderfully prepared. For dessert I highly recommend the tart with the meringue. As far as the service, it was good, however, we waited a really long time for our cocktails and for the server to take our order. It gets booked rather quickly so reserve in advance!

We had an exceptional dinner and experience at Honu Oceanside!! The ocean front dining experience was such a delightful setting! We had great service from our waiter, the bar backs/busboy to even the hostess! The mahi mahi was delicious and cooked to perfection! We loved the fish n chips and the brushetta was so unique. Now we know why this place has such a great reputation! We can't wait to go back! Mahalo!! ?

Honu is an excellent restaurant with delicious food, amazing staff, awesome desserts and cocktails. Everyone there is helpful and friendly. The owner stops by your table asking how your dinner was. The ambience is wonderful…modern look that is open to the ocean on the backside. I cannot say enough good things about Honu. The food was top notch and wonderfully prepared. Seafood pasta was amazing, Cioppino as good as my Italian mother’s. The coconut banana cream pie the. BEST! Cocktails prepared perfectly. The ambience, the staff and the food made for a wonderful experience.

We went to Honu the very first weekend it opened on Maui and weren't thrilled with our experience. That was more than a decade ago so we decided to give it another shot. We are very glad we did! The views are amazing, service was affable and knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. I ordered the cioppino and my wife got got the seafood scampi. Both were very good and menu items we would order again. We also had a handful of oysters on the half shell which made us wish we had ordered more. We are happy to have Honu back in our restaurant rotation when we return next summer!

We were sat in an area where the sun beat in on us and there was no relief with fans or shades. Needless to say it was a sauna. By the time we quickly finished our dinner we Were drenched with perspiration. It was extremely uncomfortable. Our bad was accepting the seats in the first place.

The service was excellent- we arrived early and had some drinks and appetizers that were subsequently moved to our ocean front table. It was a beautiful evening with a spectacular view. The four meals, Seafood with pasta, cioppino, Mac n cheese with fish and scallops were excellent- my seafood with pasta was one of the best meals I've ever had and one of the co owners stopped by twice to check on us. All told a wonderful evening of friends and great food. Hats off to Honu !!!

Started our lunch with AHI bruschetta , followed by the Malaysian fish and poke for lunch.... AMAZING. For dessert highly recommend the Pineapple pie , best meal we had in our Maui stay. The ambiance is perfect, we saw many turtles come by and join us while we ate next to the water's edge.Kid-friendliness: My kids eat everything so it was easy for them to enjoy the options they had.Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options.
Always enjoy dining at Honu. Location ocean front in Lahaina is fantastic. Honu means turtle in Hawaiian and lots of turtles in the surf. Watch for bobbing heads. Food always good.

Beautiful restaurant in a great spot right on the ocean. I ordered the grilled fish and it was a bit dry. I like the carrots and broccoli on the side but for the price I was expecting wow. The Mac and cheese is awesome though. Great service.

Terrific food and the server was very friendly and helpful. All of the staff was warm and welcoming. We loved all of our selections, options for everyone and the fish was very fresh.
