“Kauai Sushi Station is serving some of the freshest sushi available anywhere. This is what I look for in a Sushi restaurant. The rolls aren’t covered in sauces and sugar it’s fresh and natural ingredients. I used to dread coming to Lihue now I can’t wait. I know exactly what I want and no matter what I get it’s fresh and natural and so tasty. I almost always order the Hamachi - Yellowtail with Jalapeño. Next up I order a roll or two and a bunch of the 2 piece orders of sushi like Tuna, Tobiko, Unagi, Salmon, ikura, uni. The staff is so friendly they always remember my favorites. Their miso soup is a perfect little pick me up while you wait for your order. Mahalo. ?“
“What a cool little hidden gem in Kalaheo! They have really done a great job creating a very cozy place to enjoy a few drinks with friends, and listen to live music by artists, from all over the island! It is a family owned and run business, and they really go out of their way to make you feel like a part of the family.“
“The ahi nori wrap is to die for. I've been getting it for 20 years or however long Mermaids has been open, I don't miss a visit there at least once whenever I'm on island. Yeah, sometimes they aren't open when I wished they were, but it's worth coming back the next day...“
“If you love smoked meats, check out chicken in a barrel! We shared the chicken plate for two which comes with two scoops of rice and a side of chili. The chicken is very tender. There's also bbq sauce that paired well with the chicken. This location has a few outdoor tables. The staff was very friendly and there's a tiny outdoor sink to wash your hands.“
“It's a decent café. They have lots of things to choose from, from breakfast to children's games. The Chai tea latte and cheese Danish have been my go to straps for breakfast. The kids get cereal cups and they provide milk at the counter. It's so nice they have almond milk as an option for those that do not drink cows milk. I gave four stars because the wait in the morning can be very long.“
“My 3 year old and I shared a kale smoothie and a curry chicken wrap. Both were super tasty and fresh! Hubby had the salmon wrap. Everything was delicious and very fresh, which we desperately needed after a few days of very heavy meals. Limited outdoor seating. Very casual but we were comfy even in the rain. Friendly service. Highly recommend!“
