Food is great as always! Customer service could use a little more "happiness" sprinkled in but all in all, you get what you expect. ??

One star. Yes, what happened?!? Ok. I know. People are going to say it's called "Fresh Catch," what you ordering chicken & beef? I've had their poke and seafood dishes-was good. (Based on reviews it seems their seafood dishes are still good?) Today, ordered the special on the board-I think it was called "Home made mushroom soup chicken."The wife got beef stew plate. Home made mushroom soup chicken $14.99: TERRIBLE. Deep fried strips of chicken skin with barely to no meat on a bed of coarsely chopped cabbage with maybe (maybe) 3 tablespoons of some "mushroom soup" (thick) mixture plopped on top one spot. Not tasty. Two scoops rice. "No mac salad???" (Recommendation: L&L-order the chicken katsu plate. Even the mini get way more chicken. Go Time's Market buy one can Campbell Mushroom soup). Beef stew $14.99: One big quarter chunk potato. Chunks of fatty beef and a piece of grisly meat (wife: What is this?") they decided to throw in the pot, tomato-based. Two scoops rice and the "traditional" mac salad (with one small square potato inside-apparently the "Home made mushroom soup chicken" don't deserve Mac salad-gotta order extra, costs $3.00!!!) Threw most of it out. Ate the Mac salad...wish I could go back and take my tip back. Not going back. Luckily, Tamara's up the street has good poke. We try and support our local eating establishments. But this was very disappointing. Thus, this review.

Workers were nice and helpful while debating on what to order. On a recent visit, the wife and I tried the Spicy Ahi Katsu, Smoked Meat w/Onions, and a pound of their Spicy Smoked Tako. Unfortunately, they no longer make the Crab Salad Sandwich, which was my wife's fave, and nothing else even comes close to it. Another thing to note is that the Spicy Smoked Tako tastes different from the Kapahulu location. It was definitely not spicy at all and more mayo flavored. Still tasty tho! For the plate lunches, I did enjoy the Spicy Ahi Katsu, which was basically Ahi Katsu with a spicy mayo drizzle. Doneness was well-done, but that's usually how it goes with deep fried ahi as it is a bit temperamental. My wife did not like the smoked meat, although I thought it was okay. We definitely should've eaten it at home so we could throw on some chili pepper water or maybe I'd refry it with some shoyu cuz dat baga was hella sweet! Prices are a bit 'up there' but reasonable, with each plate costing around $16-18. Poke is fresh, so that's more than $20 per pound. There's not a whole lot to choose from, but they do have a decent variety. Hope you like it!

Nothing bad to say about this place. Never ordered from here and had something bad to say afterwards. Fish is amazing, plates are quality with quantity! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Half pound Ginger ahi poke and smoke meat plate is the go to.
