In Hawaii a BBQ cheeseburger DOES NOT consist of that reddish-brown ketchup type sauce you can get in a bottle. Whatever was in this burger was not even near anything that would come out of a bottle. A Hawaii BBQ Cheese Burger has some Hawaii style teri-ish BBQ sauce, some mayonnaise and cheese. (We ordered and paid for a deluxe, there was no lettuce tomatoes or onion) When you order chicken cutlet... gravy IS NOT gravy flavored water. A scrambled LocoMoco consists of a scrambled egg that resembles a patty or pancake shape. Not bits and pieces scrambled egg After checking further, this L & L location is a franchise of the name but NOT consistent to or participates in the L & L app or anything else other than in name. A complete waste of $50+. This kind of L&L might work on the Continental Mainland, but not here in Hawaii. We KNOW our L&L food and what Hawaii plate lunches should be and taste like. Even Eddie Flores wouldn't eat this crap. One star because the cashier was nice. Will never go back again. Recommend you go to L&L Keaau at least you'll get what you ordered and paid for.

Can't believe paid $16.50 for Garlic shrimp plate lunch. and got 6 shrimp. Most expensive 2 scoop rice ever! Even hamburger steak $14 and only 2 steak, not 3 like normal. Extremely disappointed, won't eat here again. For $30, we could've gotten nicer dinner than plate lunch!

So we are visiting Hawaii it's our 30th time visiting. Seen the good reviews on here for this restaurant. So we gave it try . Order food tip guy. And he said 10 to 11minutes. We waited 20mintes still no food. But he was giving people who ordered way after us thier food. Even his buddy came in for free food and didn't even pay. I felt discrimination real bad. We endes up leaving after 25minutes and no food. This is sad how you treat visitors. We have land here and treat hawaii and thier people with the up most repect. We will never be back to this restustrant.

I'm beyond pissed I bought the Kalua pig and cabbage and got all Kalua with 5 cuts of cabbage and the kalua was dry slightly burnt beyond salty , not happy as this has happened to me many times, that Pahoa messed up an order especially if you r paying a lot of money , I might as well buy a head of cabbage and make my own kalua and cabbage with all the kalua that was given in the plate, such a shame, cooks looked busy , girl in front was not nice at all , but unacceptable DONT GO HERE SUCH A WASTE OF TIME, MONEY , 7/11 Kalua Cabbage was better than this, I cannot have trust in L and L anymore and I'm pretty sure Management is all screwed up that's why there workers work like crap
hands down the cleanest L&L on the island! we were blown away last night by the amazing service and quality of our food. we've been to L&L in multiple locations on the island of Hawaii and were very impressed with this location. I loved the mural on the wall, the woman, Kainoa that took our order was so awesome, very professional and nice! Justin was our cook and he obviously cares about what he's doing and takes pride in his cooking. my husband got a burger and we noticed right away, the buns are not the typical L&L buns and the fries are even better. this L&L obviously cares about quality. kids got Teri beef plates. I had the garlic shrimp plate. we will definitely be coming back next time we are on this side of the island.

I eat here/do take out from here a lot since they opened. Today service was weird. The counter girl kept leaving the cash register area to go to kitchen window and to go in back to complain loudly to the cooking chefs about management of L&L Pahoa/Coco Cantina about giving her so many hours, weekend hours,etc. My food was waiting while she gripped and took a subsequent phone call order. I suspect management was on top of it because a chef- dressed in a coco cantina jacket came in, went in back a moment, came up front and took two gateraide and left. The previous girls that worked the counter were super pleasant. I don't get it: if someone doesn't want to work and gripes under your roof about you, why don't you find someone who wants to work? Plenty of people are looking for jobs. My locomoco was fine as usual. I would rather be greeted with hi and thanked with a thank you then have to listen to that rant when eating. I took my food to eat elsewhere.

No.bathroom, which would be understandable if it's take out but the gal at the front then told us they don't even have a bathroom for themselves. Seriously? That's an OSHA violation. We ordered but then canceled and left, we couldn't find there.I hope the employee was not being truthful on the bathroom for the places sake, but fyi? Don't lie about it, it made your place look barbaric.
