This is a pleasant little mom and pop type doughnut shop. The staff is very friendly and the doughnuts are fresh. They also appear to decorate cakes. My only critique is that the filling could have a bit more flavor. The cream filling was bland and the chocolate was inconsistent.

Best donut and bake shop I’ve been to on the West side!! It doesn’t have the fancy ones, and may not have exactly what you are looking/craving for at the time…but they will definitely surprise you!! In a great way! Everything is so fresh and so ono!!

Sweet Love

The doughnuts tasted different from what I remembered. Smaller than usual. My favorite is the "Honeymoon" & thank God they had some left lol. The staff member was very friendly and sweet. The store was very unorganized, but it was nice to visit.

We had their butter rolls once upon a time. But we don't drive up this way often. Usually when family is in town and they opt for a fishing day. Or more recently, a birthday party took us past here. Although it was already 30 minutes before closing, I was hoping they still had some fresh goodies for us! I missed taking a photo of the danishes... but in addition to 2 danishes, hubs got us a cinnamon roll, a couple butter rolls, bread pudding, and a couple other items that he didn't catch the name. I loved the custard pastry the most, like what an entenmann's cheese pastry aspires to be. The cinnamon roll was like a crounut roll... flaky and sugary but without the goo factor; great texture and not insane with the sugar. The danishes were fantastic as well. Generous sized with the perfect fruity center, again without being overpoweringly sweet. I would say my least favorite was the bread pudding. It could be because it was fairly heavy to have with everything else being so light? Either way, can't wait for our next visit!!

I haven't been to this bakery in years , since the government shut down and they stopped accepting ebt . I was so bummed out because the butter rolls , the pigs in the blanket and the custard pastries mmm, Especially the brownies ! Been eating there since I was a little girl . I'm so very very happy that they accept ebt again . I'm definitely going there again tomorrow . Mahalos and much love .

The butter rolls were delicious but the owners are rude people. I'll go find another place for butter rolls. They lost my business.

Sweet owners, excellent service and, best of all, the best pastries on the West Side. Long Johns and butter rolls are my favorites but it's all excellent here.

After moving to the West Side, my husband who grew up on this side raved of the long johns and butter rolls from Mike's. Unfortunately It is not the same since ownership changed in 2009ish? My husband went to check out their cakes back then and already was not liking the changes. We have been here a few times since 2012, and we have not been impressed. Now 2022, hoping it would be better, we stopped and got some things. butter rolls, cinnamon bread, chocolate donuts and pigs in the blanket. Yay! the pigs in the blanket were good. Long Johns and Chocolate Donuts were old and greasy and after one bite it went into the trash. Butter rolls were iffy, but not as good as before. Hoping dipped in hot chocolate will make it better. The Cinnamon Bread was stale and we ended up having to make French Toast with it. Still hoping that Mike's Bake Shop can turn around and be a good place for the community to go to.
