Fantastic sushi

Grabbed some take-out and ate at the beach, just a few minutes away. We actually ordered a few more things, but we couldn't help ourselves; it was soooo good(and the prices are too). So glad we tried this place out. We will definitely be back to try some more.

Mr Sun has been servicing the Waianae area for a long time. His portions are generous and prices very decent. Support our local, small businesses!

Ehhh, not so great. I stopped by here on the way back to town from Makua, and although the sushi was cheap and varied, it took FOR.EV.ER. They only got two people working, maybe even one, so it's a good thing we weren't in a rush for going anywhere. I'm okay with waiting, but the flavor was disappointing and the ahi looked and tasted like it had been frozen and thawed twice, maybe three times. I'd find another place to go. But dirt cheap.

Ho. My. Lord. I don’t even know how to begin to explain this place, besides maybe “confusing” and “an absolute revelation”. I have genuinely never had sushi this good before, and can not wait to go back! We stopped at this spot based on the reviews, and they were NOT wrong. I’ve never in my life had sushi this spectacular. It seems simple, but every piece is absolute perfection. Four months later and I still dream of this place. Go here!! But call in your order well in advance...it’s slow, but worth every moment.

Kinda disappointed by the flavor. I love sushi and wanted to like it because of how cheap and convenient sun sushi is but I can understand why it's not really popular. The Dragon Maki and Tiger Maki were basically the same thing. Only difference was one had tempura shrimp and the other had avocado. Both consists of imitation crab, cucumbers, nori and rice.

It was in a not so great part of town. Did not feel safe. The restaurant is nothing like the pictures. Do not go. Might be ok good but would never consider eating here

Wonderful food. Not really an eat in dining experience, so order it for take out, but delicious and big portion sizes. Reasonably priced for delicious sushi. It's a great find.

Really fabulous sushi, made fresh to order. Nice Japanese man took our order, and doesn't speak much English. Menus have numbers, and there are pictures of most sushi to help you order. Excellent value for the price. Very delicious fresh sushi.

Extraordinarily fresh ingredients, masterfully assembled, absurdly affordable. As others stated, the owner has limited English, so calling ahead of time isn't ideal. Cash only! And no gluten-free soy sauce. None of that detracts from the sheer value - guaranteed to please!

HIDDEN GEM for great sushi! We tried this place for the first time and I wasn't really sure what to expect because the area is run down and seedy. Not stereotyping the west side at all! Nobody thinks of waianae when they want sushi. Just saying. I just knew that I was going to be a very unhappy camper if $70 later we were not happy with our food. To our surprise not only was the sushi really good but holy Christ it was amazing!!!! So good, I'm going back for more!!!! Everything was super fresh and prepared very well. The avocados were perfect the veggies were nice and crispy. The rice oh the rice ...... perfectly cooked perfectly seasoned. We also ordered tons of the California and shrimp tempura rolls and sushi. Every single piece was perfection. We had leftovers and Usually sushi does not go over very well the next day but this place it was still very good the next day for dinner!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone give it a try!

Decently priced sushi. Very small inside. Owner doesn't appear to speak English. Did not greet or respond audibly. Stay away from the San Francisco roll -- American cheese is gross on a roll.
