Hidden gem of a local place to eat.The fried rice and fried noodles are amazing. If you do order the fried rice you can ask for it to be split and share two plates. It's a huge portion for one order. The manju is great.Super friendly staff.Closed Monday for staffing issues, but when it's open they take care of you.Parking: Parking lot in front. Ample parking.

We have been stopping in at Sam Sato every visit to Maui since 2007; we enjoy every bit of each visit. The staff are friendly, the food is consistently good - we only ever order the dry noodles which are delicious, especially with the small bowl of broth, the beef sticks and the yakitori chicken. It is comfort food at it's best. The restaurant hasn't changed at all, and I'm ok with that, it adds to the ambiance of this local restaurant. Staff in February 2024 are so nice! The two ladies who serve tables work hard and are very friendly.

Everyone stop by for dry noodles and beef bbq sticks. The dry noodles is a must but don't let the bowl size fool you. We ordered a large and shared it between my wife and I. The noodles are perfectly cooked and chewy. There's also bits of charsiu in it and some are crunchy which gives it a good surprise. The bbq beef stick is winnas too. Tender thin slices of beef in their special marinade is a great compliment to the dry noodles. We also enjoyed the chow fun and loco moco.Just remember to go there with patience. They're short staffed and working hard to feed everyone. Get there early and be prepared to wait...but it's so worth it.

Best lima bean manju that’s about it! And, if you want to preorder some, you have to physically go down because they don’t pick up their phone. Hours are limited.
