$24.99 for 12 chicken tenders? You can keep them.....

I just spoke with some punk kid who acted as bothered as possible when I asked if they had any family specials this evening...no wonder their reviews are what they are.

This Hy Vee has gone down hill lately. The staff is uninterested in helping customers. The grocery selection is poor most of the time. Too many times the food on the shelves is expired. I have spoken to the manager, however it continues. Bought a box of pasta on 3-2-23 and it expired on 2-23-23. Shouldn't be the customers responsibility for quality control. Going to Fareway from now on.

I ordered a cake for my mom and it was all completely wrong. We asked for butter cream and got whipped. We asked for hot pink and black cheetah print and got rainbow. The rainbow wrap that was around the cake tasted like paper. It was nasty. No one ate the cake. Paid almost $50 for it and it was all completely wrong. I will never ever get a cake from there again!

The food made fresh daily here is top notch! From Fresh sandwiches, salads, cooked chicken and Alfredo dinner( DELICIOUS). The burgers and Quesadillas are better than a lot of restaurants I've been to. Give it a shot, you'll end up full and happy.

Ordered cheese curds or balls and Mongolian beef on 1/30/2022. Was charged for both and only received the Mongolian Beef. Thanks Hy Vee for screwing me out of almost 9 bucks for something I didnt get. Will be going to Fareway from now on. This is what happens also for using Doordash. They aren't smart enough to double check an order.

Was not very fond of spending what I did on food to get cold boxed up pot stickers.

Love the pork gyoza and the sauce that goes with it! The fresh made sushi is awesome! Better than I've had at some restaurants. Very helpful staff.

Since the Covid-19 arrived, we have only bought groceries by curbside pickup. This process is smooth and free! Thank you HyVee Altoona for making this happen. The staff is friendly at curbside. It's easy to do. Communication is simple. If we arrive for pickup on the hour, then we are usually home ten minutes later. Ordering and pickup can be in the same day!!! The deli meats and cheeses are great, meat counter items are so tender, fruits and veggies are fresh, bakery goods are delsih, ice cream is frozen, and there is a nice wine selection! I'm happy!

We do a lot of shopping at this hyvee, I am very upset by the way they are changing there hours. They have all been open this way for years. I have horrible anxiety and enjoyed going to the store when it wasn't busy. The way the young associates treated us tonight was a joke. They did a closing announcement over the PA every minute for the last 10 min. Then one of the working associates a young kid working by the refrigerated section said "yea get the f*** out" then saw us and turned bright red. Then we went to check out, they couldn't take our fuel savers because the system does a reboot at midnight. They wanted us out but they sure as heck weren't gonna be helpful about it. If your system does a reboot at midnight then don't close your store at midnight and force everyone to the checkout where they can't even check out properly.

It's a grocery store with a food court. I am convinced my broccoli beef had liver in it, the flavor is distinctive.

One of nicest grocery stores I’ve been. East coast needs a few of these.

Hyvee corporate changed their restaurant in Altoona from a market grille to be a market grille express. Sounds like something simple and transparent, right?? Not even close. They now have two different sections. Self service and full service. They removed the host/hostess station near the entrance. We sat in the full service/bar side. Unfortunately because of the removal of the host/hostess station, the bartender and all of the servers spent more of their time having to explain to the people walking into the restaurant of the changes, rather than serving their customers. (What the host/hostess used to do) We went for burger night. We probably won’t go back unless they change back to the way it used to be. We used to eat at this restaurant once a week, especially during golf league. Not only did they cut their menu in half, it appears as if they cut their employees in half. The Altoona has/had some of the best employees in the service industry. TJ is still there, but none of the other familiar and friendly faces are there. I forgot to mention the food. It was just ok. Not its usual high quality food. The slice of tomato on my burger still had the sticker on it!!! Temps could have been better. No sushi or flatbread pizzas available in the menu any longer.

No matter where you go in 8 Midwestern States, you can count on great prices, fresh food, and overall consistency by stopping in at the local Hy-Vee Grocery Store and/or Hy-Vee Gas Station.
