Lindsey, our waitress was awesome. We ordered the ribs, baked beans, mac and cheese, and onion rings. Wow. The meat fell off the bone, the beans were the best I've ever had. Loved the spicy bbq sauce and the raspberry habenero was fantastic. If you ever pass through Altoona, Iowa, this is a must stop.

When the music is so loud that you can’t hold a conversation with the people at your table, it’s very annoying. We asked our waitress to turn the music down and we were told she was not able, that the general manager had control of that and they could not reach them. Food was good as always, however our waitress was lacking. She was great at first but as our meal continued she came to our table less and less. We waited for our check for a bit and finally flagged her down, she gave it to us and then took 3 tables drink orders and delivered their drinks before we decided to just hand her our bill and payment. Table management was not there once she received new tables.

Great BBQ joint... This particular location also has smoked steaks and prime rib. I had the prime rib, which was a good portion, tender and cooked perfectly! My issue was with the au jus it was sitting in. For my taste, au jus with prime rib should be beefy tasting and a little smokey. This was like maybe they added a little BBQ sauce or something that made it sweet. Others may enjoy it but it's not for me. The mac n cheese and baked beans were very good! My husband's tenderloin was wonderful! I'll be back, just not for prime rib.Parking: Plenty of parking unless they're extremely busy.

We enjoy Jethro's. Great food and service. However, instead of the meaty traditional wings we always are served, some of them were so small that they could have been from a pigeon. Hoping it is a fluke. I brag about Jethro's wings as they are always meaty until now. Fried pickles were perfect.

The restaurant is ok...Mike in the office is horrible. I called inquiring about my lost debit card and he in turn started raising his voice, then a low yelling, wanting to know who helped me when I called the first time, and on and on. He was pitiful. I was in tears by the time we hung up. He has EXTREMELY POOR communication, and honestly, I feel very sorry for every employee at the Altoona Jethro's. Mike creates an atmosphere of FEAR. Horrible customer service. I will never go there again. This kind of management atmosphere deserves a ZERO, poor, poor example. | |
