Millstream Brau Haus solid eatery living in the Amanas! We popped in on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Our server was truly amazing. He was attentive, kind and prompt. I had a German doppelbock and Millstream's own oatmeal stout. Delish! But the real star of the show were the chicken wings. Great size, well cooked and the sauce (Buffalo) was exactly what I was hankering. Dare I say they are among the best wings in the area!? I dare. The menu features a plethora of sandwiches and burgers (which looked amazing) with some German entrees, as well. I hear their pretzels are to die for. Prices were on point. While this eatery is open daily I will note; it closes earlyish (8 on weekdays, 9 on the weekend). Stop in for a pint-- grab some wings or a pretzel. Millstream Brau Haus is a must-have.

They do not accept their own gift certificates. They say it was a previous owner. I would have accepted it anyway as there was no expiration date.

Prompt, polite service and delicious food. Flight is offered to sample different brews. The poutine was very tasty too.

Sat down just to try the well-reviewed pretzel app. Very soft and flavorful pretzel, well complimented by the beer cheese dip. Friendly service and a very wonderful place to check out. That pretzel was massive!

Stopped in on a early Saturday afternoon for lunch. Our first and definitely last visit to the Brau Haus! There were three other tables sat in the main area when we arrived, so it was near their opening time and food should have been fresh. Our waiter came to the table quickly for drink orders (don't order the ice tea) and then came back for food orders. We ordered the poutine, as well as the Reuben egg rolls. Let's start with the poutine.... Steak fries, undercooked and crunchy (but hot), powdered gravy mix, cold unmelted cheese curds and "pulled pork" that was not fresh, but rather cooked a long time ago (frozen) and heated in the microwave. So, so bad for something that should be fairly easy to prepare. The Reuben Egg Rolls.... Also prepared way in advance and frozen then refried. How would you know? The sauerkraut on the inside was brownish in color and the outer skin of the egg roll had white areas (freezer burnt). This whole meal sat on the table as our waiter came to bring boxes (we took nothing with us) and the check ($60). No is anything wrong? Let me fix it, can I get you something else. We left the colonies and drove to Davenport before we even thought about eating anything else because this food was so bad. It's clearly not an "off day" since there are other complaints as well. Definitely skip this one and try someplace else. Don't want German, drive back to the Iowa city/Coralville area!

Good food, nice people. If you go there for happy hours make sure you say something. Otherwise they will charge you full price.

On the plus side, portions are very large. The food was just okay, and the pork schnitzel was pretty tough. Service was a little slow too. The homemade black cherry soda was very good, as a plus. Overall, it was a little pricy and not really all that good. Caveat: we did not try their beers and that is something they are likely known for.
