The food was so tasty, I will definitely be back. Be sure to go early because it will take a while to get your food but good things take time.

Shrimp Arepas are AMAZING! It is a comfortable space inside and includes a piano and has a slight bohemian vibe. Don't be fooled by the empty lot. If people knew about it, would be packed everyday. There is also a full bar with a wide selection of beer and liquor. I was going to mention service was slow but wow it was worth the wait.

A decent place. We went on a Thursday and only one person was cooking and running the place. Prepare yourself to wait patiently. The wait is worth it. The empanadas were delicious and so was the dinner.

This place appears rough around the edges, but it’s really a great little restaurant. Food was great. Very authentic menu. Atmosphere was very simple/unpretentious. We loved it! They’re small so temper your expectations about quick service, although our food came within a half hour or less. Order some empanadas, sit back with a beer while you wait for your food, enjoy!

Due to possible rumors spread by people in the community... (likely untrue so please read thenither reviews and observe the pictures because this place has been totally revamped in recent years and could use some business. Its a bit secluded on east lincoln near Scaeffer auto body so mostly only people from or going to nevada know of it but its there and hard to miss.)The rumors to be addressed.... because rumors destroy lives and so im addressing some rumors thay may be responsible for this businesses decline in past years. Ive heard this place never seems to get any business, ine might observe such (yet if one man runs the place itd be hard for him to keep up with a full house, he also likely has a second job just to stay afloat).According to two dudes I know EJ Martinez and his bro Justus Buckels, this place is a front for drug money laundering. I forgot what EJ called it but it's disguised as a restaurant, he claimed that sometimes theres a watcher out from with an pistol, (i doubt thats true). Ive passed by the business for years and barely pay any mind to it because it had fallen into disrepair until this past year. Personally I love mexican cuisine, especially the real deal, authentic from someone who learned from his mama back home in Mexico. Thing is EJ and his bro claim to be from a chicago gang and they claim this place works for the same people, this is likely untrue bit the owners deserve to know where.the b.s. is originating..likely justbdudes who want to seems tough so they claim gang ties and try to use a struggling business as leverage for their lie. [To the owner, it's illegal to slander someone and EJ claims he heard from the owners that its a front, he says it all over town, likes to talk, alot. Slander is a rumor or lie spread about a person or business to bring them social problems with reputation.] EJ and his bro lies to pretend they're in a Chicago gang and their both Don Corleone running things so they make bold claims to make it sound like they have power. The poor owner of this restraint is likely the victim of some d*** lies told by compulsive pathological liars.Maybe the place will get more busniess, more reviews and less creepy rumors. Personally I've never knpwn much about the place except during the pandemic id considered apooraching the owners with an offer to repair their wooden sign and repaint it and the building. I have experience with such things and saw the potential to revamp the place. Recently the owners managed to do just that and it looks great but still gets little business. I'm putting this out there not to disparage authentic middle American cuisine (literally the best restraint are those run by small families) or the owners who are likely justifying to make their own place here with a quaint little restraint. This post is to make the owners aware that if they are hurting for business it could be due to people like EJ and Just making things up about them, EJ does like to make bold claims so I apologize for any hurt feelings. May this encourage the owners to defy these rumors and push for some good publicity. From the pics I'd say the food looks delicious and reminds me of the best Mexican food I've ever had but the inside of the building looks very well decorated and beautiful. If I had to judge this place, I'd judge it now by how it looks. Not by the rumors morons spread about it. The best Chinese food I ever had came from a place were the father cooked all the food and the wife and kids took all the orders. 5 stars hands down. If the owners of Botenero is really just one lonely man... then maybe that guy deserves more business, some help, and maybe a woman by his side yeah? Also, if he's running the ship all by himself then cut the guy some slack and be patient. You ever tried to cook several meals at once? It's madness. Sole time I'll give a place a try and will them update my review with my findings. I have no doubt that when this time comes I will be impressed.

Visiting from out of town, every entree we ordered was amazing. Keep in mind it's just one guy doing everything so it won't be fast. But waiting it out is well worth it!Kid-friendliness: He interacted with our kids and was very friendly.
