I haven’t had donuts like this since I was a child. I’m literally in my car in tears. Instantly brought back so many memories of my mom taking me and my sister to a small town bakery in Sheldon, Iowa. It was called the Prairie Queen Bakery (it’s been closed for years). And she’d let us each pick out our favorite donut and mine was always a ‘Honeymooner’ (called ‘Birds Eye’ here). I haven’t had one in decades, but it tasted just like I remember and brought back so many memories. Thank you for everything. Wonderful service and perfect donuts!

I just (actually) ate a cookie from this store and they were almost too beautiful and perfect to eat! Tasty as well. While I didn't go to the store to get these, I've been in there before. Van Hemert's Dutch Oven Bakery is a wonderful place to have a nice lunch. We enjoyed our on the light side with soup and half a sandwich plus you get a cookie. There are many baked goods to temp you. Tried my first Dutch letter and I was in heaven! Love the almond flavor! Also my friend got the lemon windmill which was yummy too. They also have cookies and cupcakes. We both bought some bread too. Mine was day old but you sure could tell as I sampled both when I got home. You can't go wrong for fresh bread and delectable goodies plus a nice lunch too!

Highest quality goods in all of Iowa. My little brother and I used to walk up every single morning and get a donut while Mom slept... Now I live in Ames and visit the Ames location on my day off occasionally. Their quality or taste haven't changed! The best donuts you could possibly get, amazing sandwiches and really friendly staff!! Dutch Oven is the best
I have been grabbing donuts to celebrate my employees. They love them. I find the donuts with holes go faster than the pastries. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The other pastries in the case look delicious and one of these days I will grab a treat. I'm thankful I have a special place to find good treats for the drivers. I will be going back often.

i was visiting a friend from out of town and she took me to this place i really liked the pastries but i was trying to ask questions to one of girls and the older lady (who i assume is the manager) just kept talking over her not sure if she was new but it was just plain rude
